You're not crazy. In one of the first interviews about the expansion they did say it would be released with the 360.

But like any game and release dates, they're rarely accurate and almost always get pushed back.

Well if you went far enough into the CoP storyline there is an Avatar Gate which is locked in P'soXja.

It's where you get a cutscene after the Diabolos fight. Diabolos maybe?

If you are referring to the locked avatar gate in the uncapped tower near Ranguemont Pass, it is for a quest called "A Reputation in Ruins" in Upper Jeuno. If I remember correctly, it is the Phoenix Gate and it is broken. Then again, there are 6 towers- there may be Avatar Gates for all of the Celestial Avatars in the towers that are not connected to Promyvion - Vahzl.

I'm curious now... I want to check the other uncapped tower.

Floating Tarutaru crystal warrior. When you /poke him in the tummy he giggles and you can use /bloodpact panic to make him do /panic motion. Anyone who has done Divine Might gets this one.

Om'hpedme. Those "puppy dog" things from sea. No bloodpact ability, it just follows you around, makes weird noises, and when it's mouth is open, YOU take double damage!

Absolute Virtue. But you have to beat it first and trade a complete set of it's sin drops. Unfortunatly it takes 30000MP to summon, 6000MP per 3 seconds to keep out, and it's AE Meteor bloodpact is 500000MP. Fortunatly it counts as a carbuncle so carbuncle mitts will cut that down somewhat...

It's probably only Diabolos. If you've done certain windy quests you can tell. They pretty much say theres a protocrystal of darkness somewhere in the northlands. Hmmmmmmmmmm I'm thinking PsoXja perhaps.

I think its "Tuning Out" cut scene that actually shows the darkness protocrystal under ulegrand range... not remembering clearly but isnt that the same stone thats in prishe's chest?

Well, there is a Fenrir gate in Pso'Xja where you talk to Fenrir in a CoP mission. And he is Darkness.

And yes Fenrir is big in the windy mission line...

Diablos and Bahamut both were very against helping humans in the storyline, Carby and Phoenix were not, and Fenrir lent his aid as well. Since there is more CoP, one can argue that the final 2 terrestial avatars would be willing to help. Although they both did somewhat move more towards liking you near the end...Bahamut in a more silent manner, I think.

I don't think that Diablos was so much against helping people, but he didn't think it was going to do much good. Spoiler city. -> I think his plan was to take people into Dynamis before Bahamut destroyed the world.

And the storylines for Phoenix, Diablos, and Bahamut are all very much unresolved- I would not be surprised if you have to have beaten CoP to get the quests for their summons. I would imagine that their loot would be fairly hot too.

If you're doing Tiamat with ONLY summoners in 40 minutes, I imagine your alliance has something like 10 summoners in it, which most linkshells probably don't have.

At any rate, I can guarantee that Diabolos is going to be one of them. Replace Carby's dat file with his, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

He's got a perfectly fluid summon animation. Just like any other avatar. Yet if you put NPCs in the place of Carby, they just... pop.
