Fenrir is not necssary labelled as Dark Avatar.. He is more likely as Lunar Avatar, and Carbucle can be Bringer of Rainbow.

well, this is what he told me, dunno if it's true but i think its good to mention it.

All of this came from Hiromichi Tanaka.

-New avatar is going to be released but to obtain it, you will have to have your CoP missions up-to-date. The Avatar will be Diabolos, and when you beat his BC and ask him to be an avatar, it isnt 100% that he'll agree, and you'll have to do everything over again.

-A new mission is going to be added to CoP (Maybe it has to do with the new avatar they are releasing?) When you talk to the NPC that gives you the mission, he might blow you off and not give you it, making you have to wait 24 real life hours to try talking to him again.

-They are going to introduce 3 new dynamis zone (Valkrum, buburimu and tavnazia) I dunno but i'm calling bullshit on this one. You must give the Goblin in Tavnazia 1,000,000G for an Hourglass, but it's not a 100% guarantee that he will give you a glass.

-Fellowship cap will be raised to 65 and a new quest is going to be introduced.

I can't see Bahamut being a summon, but I can see the other avatars being ones. Bahamut is too big, he'd look stupid if he was shrunken to be a summon.

I don't think Terrestrial avatars would have to match up to any elements. They don't really say "Carbuncle of the light" they call him "The bringer of Rainbows" or whatever.

The instant they become a spell, yes they do. Every single spell (and every job ability and a whole lot of the weapon skills) all have an element. It's absolutely true that they don't need to "fill in" every single element, but as soon as something becomes a spell, it has to have an element of some type. They could undoubtedly double up on stuff, too (Fenrir and Diabolos and Odin all be dark, for example, or Phoenix and Bahamut and Ifrit all be fire), but you couldn't have like Phoenix the "Fusion" spell which counts as Fire and Light, even though he deals fire damage and presumably likes to Raise people.

Anyway, I'm responding to a few of the posts between this one and that one and I'm too lazy to sit there and quote them all. @.@ One thing, though... Where in the mission dialogue did anyone say, "Hey, this is how many terrestial avatars there are, and there are for sure no other ones besides those." I'm not being sarcastic; I just don't remember anyone saying anything even remotely like that. Of course, reading up on the mythology of summons was just about the last thing on my mind as I was doing CoP missions.

Isn't Diabolos the Avatar of Dreams, not Darkness? I'm pretty sure (though not positive) b/c of the whole Dynamis thing and whatnot.

Doubt SMN would get nightmare, it'll be too strong, but if they do, that'd be really awesome.

There's 1 move that each avatar cant use on bloodpacts, but can use while you fight them. Nightmare will probably be it.

So it is good chance that Alexander can debut as Light Avatar and Odin debut as Dark Avatar.

If they give Bahamut an element I'd say it would be Thunder, so they don't clash with anyother element. But no one has fought Bahamut so it really is hard to say...
