If they wanted it to be "not killable" then why does it drop the item that gets you the best great katana in the game >_>
Don't worry. Next time the japs do it they'll take 80 blms and win.

I believe the only dismissed ideas are the ones that don't follow game mechanics whatsoever.Originally Posted by Zigrah
1) Trading items to AV - You can't trade items to monsters.
2) Using pop items against AV - You can't use pop items nor equip them, the best you can do is have them in your inventory.
3) Stealing items from AV - All items in the game are in the dats and documented. Very few items have yet to be discovered as to where they come from and none of them afaik are weapons and many are not equipable.
Edit: Forgot, there is the GK, Futsuno Mitama... so for the sake of completeness, have a THF steal it from AV and give it to the SAM in your group so he can use it (rare tag only).![]()
4) Some NM yet to be discovered drops something to kill AV - Again, dat files... all mobs/npcs in any zone are known.
5) Killing Wyverns - The dats show 6 Aern's Wynav. Technically you'd only have to kill 4 to see if he will keep resummoning them (kill 3, he summons 3 more, kill 1 more and if he resummons that's 7). The group on Phoenix (?) server in the blog translation mentions killing 6. The only assumption left is perhaps you have to kill 15 (1 for each job) for some reason to weaken him.
6) Jailers helping you - Upon popping a jailer it attacks you making this highly unlikely. Any non-player that assists you in battle is an NPC/Pet. Jailers are monsters.
7) Jailer Weapons - It is perhaps possible that jailer weapons do something special only when used against AV. Neither of the 2 groups that have fought AV have said that they've tried them though that does not necessarily mean they did not.
8 ) Some position in Al'Taieu weakens him - This is perhaps possible though no area within Al'Taieu seems to give any indication or hint of this.
9) Shadowbind - The one thing so far shown to hinder AV in some way.
On a side note AV uses every jobs 2hour except whm's....
Now i think it also has benediction its just no one has damaged it enough to trigger its use. You dont see Roc benediction at 90% (atleast i have never heard/seen it) and if it can use each of the 2hour EVERY 2 hours then you cant kill him because you would need to kill it from 100% to 0% in less then 2 hours.
I have seen kirin use Astral Flow 2 times in a 3 hour kirin so i know this is possible(for kirin atleast) so unless there is a way to dispel the regen somehow its not going down by convential methods.
Probably using Jailer weapons with a Bazillion Virtue stones, but I'm pretty sure this was mentioned before.
"6) Jailers helping you - Upon popping a jailer it attacks you making this highly unlikely. Any non-player that assists you in battle is an NPC/Pet. Jailers are monsters. "
The new FF12 demo has this, where you try to get those pegasis type mobs to fight the mandagorias before you engage them. IDK this was my idea, like mabye if you pop a jailer he'll start going to town on AV, but I've never fought a jailer so it's a complete guess.
I talked to a japanese representitive from SE and they told me that DRG's new two hour gives the following:
Jump: Additional effect dispel mob regen.
High Jump: Additional effect silence mob until it dies.
What about the Jailer weapons? Unfortunately my LS is not yet capable of sea, so absolutely no chance to test this.
But there are 7 jailers, and thus, 7 jailer weapons/torques.
Each torque has an attribute.
Think about FF8. They locked away your abilities until you killed a mob, then you'd get one back. This is...somewhat in reverse.
Justice = Str = AV melee dmg down.
Love = Dex = AV melee acc down.
Fortitude = Vit = AV melee dmg taken up.
Hope = Agi = AV evasion down.
Prudence = Int = melee magic dmg down (or maybe slows casting?)
Faith = Mnd = magic dmg taken up (or resistance lowered?)
Temperance = Chr = Possible regen lessened?
I know it's still theory, but I think if we're going to theorize the Jailer weapons "re-jail" him then that's how they would do it. It's not going to be an all-of-a-sudden AV is super weak. But it might lessen him so that he can be killed.

Well, I assume you've done sky? This idea would be like... Imagine Kirin pops in Ru'aun Gardens and you'd want Byakko to fight him. Byakko attacks you upon pop.Originally Posted by XxSlusherxx
Not only that but... Byakko requires pop items so you can fight him and Byakko sometimes drops a pop item for Kirin. So, you'd have to farm for two Byakkos except Ullikummi doesn't always drop his item (he'd rather give you Ulfhedinn Axe) and neither does Despot. Then you'd have to hope that when you pop Kirin, that popping Byakko after would cause Byakko to help you.
Yeah I've heard the drop rates on pop items are just horrid... so this stratagy will probly be religatgated to "if noting else works, we'll try it."
Anyone else hear something about this? or is it just a BS rumor?I talked to a japanese representitive from SE and they told me that DRG's new two hour gives the following:

hehe, thinking way back to FFIX
remember the castle (i think like Ispen Castle)
where items with least damage were the most lethal, and vis-versa (sp)?
