What I wonder is: does AV attack you immediately when popped?
Doesn't he stand there talking for awhile? Thought I remembered reading that. Maybe that's part of the key.

I honestly find it sort of odd that you kill all these jailers to free him only to kill him. Maybe there's something more to it. But then I haven't killed any jailers so I dunno if theres a story to it or not^^;;;; But its just something that struck me as odd.
Maybe you're just not supposed to fight him right away. Maybe have to do something else first. Dunno what though. XD

It has been said many, many, many, many times that he attacked immediatly and was still talking while doing so. The guy who wrote the original Japanese blog entry even went as far as to make a joke about it.

In the next version update, major changes are scheduled for the dragoon two-hour ability.

The development team does not consider the dragoon to be particularly weak when compared to other jobs, but we are aware that a large part of a dragoon's strength depends on the presence of his or her wyvern. After taking into account the wyvern's tendency to be quickly defeated in heated battles, and the dragoon's lack of a powerful special ability for use in missions and other critical situations, it was decided that improvements were necessary.

Simply raising the wyvern's HP and defense to increase its survivability would cause balance issues in other parts of the game. However, it was judged that improving the dragoon's two-hour ability would have less of an impact on overall balance, and so the following changes have been planned for the upcoming version update:

-New two-hour ability
The dragoon will be imbued with the strength of his or her wyvern for a fixed length of time, increasing the dragoon's power and adding special effects to "Jump" abilities.

-Call Wyvern
The recast time for this ability will be reduced to twenty minutes. This ability will only be available when the main job is set to dragoon.

-Wyvern
Wyverns will now have the equivalent of the job trait "Subtle Blow," reducing the amount of TP gained by opponents from the wyvern's attacks.

More details will be announced at the time of the version update.

Edit: Ok so go with the notion that its not about the loot its about killing it, but once the trick is figured out, would you really wanna risk all that it takes for a chance, a SLIM chance of getting whatever incredibly rare item could maybe drop if you are really lucky?

Tape hit the nail on the head. this game is just a big let down. In terms of end game, in terms of graphics, in terms of the fact that YOU CAN FUCKING KILL SOMETHING THAT POPS ONCE A WEEK 300 TIMES AND NOT GET A DROP.

but SE says "o we never meant this game to be addictive". What are they the tabacco corporation? You make a game based entirely around items then make said items a 1/billion drop for some and you have an addiction if people really want these items .


And look at the jailers drop rates for their items... does anyone really even want to kill AV? Actually I take that back. Does anyone really want to kill AV if it relys on zerging or something retarded because we know it probably is.

Any weapons named as opposite of Virture, or in conjunction with seven deadly sins (Gluttony sword) .. I dunno, just a random thought.

And weapons drop off the Jailers? .. I would imagine those weapons should have some effect on AV, seeing as they've been with Jailer's so long, maybe they've I dunno, somehow become attuned to em, and thus deal some sort of naughty damage to AV.

i think maybe this NM isnt meant to be defeated by only 1 Linkshell or alliance. Maybe he's a trigger NM for an event or something where you have to call for help and have mass people just blast him all at once. Stupid idea cuz who in their right mind would call for help on him but hey, never know lol. Well thats my 2 cents

Yeah they tried that already. 100+ people slamming on him for a really really long time, and never got him under 98%
