ha when it first came out Warrior was completely broken, they built rage up at under half the rate they do now, and their damage was much lower. It was fixed in a patch, I think in January, but, Warrior sucked something feirce, then was awsome, then was partially nerfed(mortal strike which is a 30 sec ability with that one axe doing 4k+), hurray for constant balancing.(seriously)

To add onto the CoP Storyline... I hate it, it is a complete and total timesink, with extremely crappy rewards(no, the CoP rings are not worth it to me). The missions take time to schedule -when was the last time you said in LS "Hey let's do Riverne B01 I need it" and you got the help you needed?- and they are overly difficult. I have done the Ultima/Omega BC 3 times, with 4, yes fucking 4 CCB polymers, and using all of our 2hr abilities, we did everything completely right, until Ultima decides to do a move that one shots all of our mages after our BLM pulled hate for one second, then it spams a move that one shots all of our mages again after they reraise, so they have no time to reraise again. Completely rediculous. I'm tired of timesink missions that are overly difficult with shitty rewards.

The Storyline is cool, but I don't think it is worth the timesink and gilsink. If I didn't want the elemental obis so badly I would give up on it, + my linkshell needs me.

I thought it was reversed. I clicked through the CSs as fast as possible, but the BCs were fun stuff. They were bloody hard before nerfage and strats came out.

Spending gil on meds and equip to help me win only to lose 3 times in a row is not fun for me, maybe for you, but not for me. Its especially annoying when you have the final mob you have to kill down to 8% and it Equalizers 4/6 of your party.

that's the player's fault, not the game's. i didn't see 4/6 people get hit with Equalizer both times that i went.

It's time consuming, its hard, and it costs money to get the meds to do it. And if you don't want to pay for the crap to make it easier, you have to farm it, which is again time consuming. CoP is a huge time sink and gil sink.

If you consider the CoP storyline to be a timesink, then it's probably time you start looking for a different game because you're obviously bored of FFXI. If inventive and challengeing fights, a huge long story arc, two hot elvaan chicks and exploring some of the great new zones is just a "timesink" then you're not appreciating what FFXI really is.

1/1 on Ultima/Omega, didn't buy anything except Vile Elixer / CBC Pump and some mulsums. That fight was a joke.

*shrug* I'm more of an Ulmia fan myself, but apparantly most of my linkshell is filled with pedophiles and prefers Prishe.

I enjoyed CoP really. Bitching about it is kind of pointless. It's not about getting godly gear, it was for the reason most people play video games.....because its a video game. CoP I found was a really good story, and I was thrilled when I set my foot inside my first Promyvion (not so much so after wiping but hey, can't win them all) and I still get kicks from when I see a PLD get one shotted from a 1300 critical from a Yovra in Sea.

If all I wanted for a game was to just get godly gear...I would just make my own lame RPG.

The game doesn't keep me logging on every day, Its the people that play the game that keep me on. If this game was FFXI offline, I would have ditched it faster than I ditched PSO episode III once got to level 75. I enjoy playing the game with other people, and for this reason FFXI is still worth playing for me.

And I guess my hatred of CoP is based on experience. Once you repeat the mithran trackers BC 3 times, get ditched by 2 groups of people that you helped on previous missions when you need a mission, and lose the Ultima/Omega BC 3 times after waiting 2 weeks to repeat it, you would hate it too.

First time I got left behind because I got unlucky when I couldn't log on for a linkshell event, second time I helped 2 ungrateful jerks who take your help but give none in return. Now I'm in a new "static" and I already said, we were doing great on the Airship BC until it started one shotting mages who couldn't cast reraise/use hairpin or earring in time(tank got killed after equalizer).

Hard not to get hit with equalizer when you're in melee range maybe we should all go level black mage!

My pt fought ultima twice; first time we wiped after he equalized me and the war/nin for 1300+ damage -- and a hefty chunk off the paladin -- which basically neutered our damage output. I think we still coulda won, though, if we didn't fuck up with reraising, since we had 7 minutes on the clock, all had RR, and he was at 5%. Someone aggroed him after half of us had got up, though (ran in and BioII, I blame the pressure of the situation)

Second time, he used equalizer 3 times in a row at 20% (lol no CCB), and none of us died, though it did tear us up good. We ended up winning.

Doing about 25 quests in total, I was 60 in just under 8 days /played, and made enough money grinding to buy my epic mount at level 58. Ha.
Getting money for your epic mount is not a difficult thing, I am still beyond lost as to how people are 60 for weeks and months and don't have the cash for one.. I had enough long before I hit 60 and I didnt even need to buy the racial mount [dreadsteed ftw]. I have no idea what in the hell people are doing with their tradeskills or buying at the auction house that they are so strapped for cash.

Anyways - yes anyone with serious obsessive compulsive disorder can grind like hell on any class, but the point I was getting at is its alot easier for some classes than others. A warlock with the optimum grinding spec is going to get to 60 faster than a warrior with the optimum grinding spec. A hunter with the optimum grinding spec is going to get to 60 faster than an optimum grinding specced priest. It is worlds easier for me to solo grind with my hunter than it is for my boyfriend to grind with his warrior - not to mention some classes have some serious levels of hell, imo.. priest in the early levels sucks so hard compared to what I experienced with my warlock, its easy for people to get put off or discouraged by this even though it gets better as you gain for talents and skills.
