I guess its time for me to make an insightful comment about the actual topic.

If they can, I hope the people who already have a ridill lvl the job, because ridill is rare enough that almost 95% of the people who lvl blue mage and don't have it already will never equip it.

If Blue Mage gets high sword skill and is more of a melee w/ monster abilities, then it'd probably be pretty cool as a blu/nin. If they could use say, 2 monster abilities at once, like some sort of berserk and acc up or haste (I dunno if theres a monster ability that gives haste in the game, can't think of any atm), then they could probably become pretty viable dd.

It all just depends on how Square makes them. If they make them into bards that use monster abilities instead of songs and are better used subbing whm for light cures, then I don't think ridill would have that much of an impact, and wouldn't matter if they could equip or not.

If BLU has a C- skill in sword, I'd cry to see them get it, especially if they had low melee stats like a regular mage.

Then again, its possible that BLU has an A+ rating, decent DEX and STR, and have monster abilities driven by TP... In this event, quite a few things could happen. What if monster abilities don't give a mob TP? A BLU/NIN wielding Kraken/Ridill would own HNM's pre-rng-nerf style... But, as was said, its basically impossible to say without first seeing what SE does with the job. The cool thing is, we'll know if BLU can equip it before anyone even gets the BLU class, just by taking a look at the Ridill the second we log in after that update =) I can't wait to just log in and look at everything that day.

If I had to guess I'd say no, due to the falchion vs. scimitar argument mentioned before.
