My Thf got a ridill early ( i was lvl 68 thf lvl 75 blm) I hit 70 and shut up any butthole who said i did no dmg in xp pts. And as far as HNM i have never seen anyone but war use it with an ax but most use gax for high def HNM in my experience.
Your arguing over whther a luxury item should be given/lotted/bid on by 1 job over another. Makes no sense each job that can use can put it to good use period end of story. And as far as using it on HNM don't be silly use your A+ weapon (if you have one) not ridill generally it will be more effective.

Ridill is awesome, still, if RDMs could equip nobles I wouldn't complain, I heal a fair share during LS events and whatever I'm doing so does any RDM who's half decent, A SMN would be healing too (maybe not during CoP wyrms) so they can put it to good use, a better thing to say would be something like making BLMs use Nobles or something.

It'd be cool to half autorefresh+10%cure potency while farming without losing TP to switch to Light Staff (and for convert!)

Great Axe is really bad against high DEF monsters. It's per hit damage is the same as axe and ridill, but axe and ridill attacks SO much more often.

Rampage is only 300-400 damage or Mistral for 200-300 when skillchaining, but considering the VASTLY supperior DoT aswell as being able to WS ALOT more often, Axe+Ridill WAR not only beats out Great Axe Warriors, but basically every other job in the alliance including BLMs (Mostly depending on the mob, day/weather, ect.).

Wrong. Ridill is the strongest DoT weapon for Warrior against anything that isn't immune to slashing.

And for the record, I have 274 sword skill. A+ Weapons are 276 skill. A whole two big skill point differnece.

I don't think anyone should even TRY to argue on this subject. Giving this to anything else other than warrior, is not a waste, BUT putting it in the hands of a warrior > than anything else. It will definately strengthen the LS .

Being that I have a Ridill and am interested in Blue Mage, I'm hoping yes!

In Tactics series BLU can use tons of weapons, including axes and swords, and of course has an ability called Blue Sword that absorbs enemy abilities. Hrm. Ridill is a blue sword!!

Incidentally it'd be nice for someone to have A rank sword besides PLD, but I doubt that happens with a new mage job.

Personally if I was presented with 1 person of each job who had attended equal linkshell events, put in just as much as the next I would give it to the THF then DRK as they get jacked in sky where your war/sam/bsts probably already (or can be obtained without too much effort) have osode/byakko pants etc.. Hecta has nothing on Adaman so id go thf-drk-others as 1 ridill to a war is not going to make or break your linkshell.

i think they will because it seems to fit the style of BLU that they are portraying.

i hope they can't because i want BLU to be useful for the Monster Abilities, if they can use Ridill, people will try to make them gimp WARs.

if BLU has anything higher than B- skill on Sword and can equip Ridill, i'd probably not play it past subjob levels.

Have your WAR with Ridill tank your next Fafnir. You aren't the only one that didn't think it'd work, Fight Club (The biggest JP LS on our server aswell as being the first people to kill JoL on all servers known to the NA community) though the same way. We're pretty good ingame friends with them though, and one of our members told them to try it out instead of traditional PLDs. Guess what they use now? Ridill WAR/NINs. [/size]

I haven't seen Fight Club do Fafhogg with anything other than Pld/Nin tanks for a very, very long time.

I think it's the best job that tanks and holds hate so well without giving much TP, that allows the mages to go wild. I mean, we've killed Nidhogg in like less than 13 min with Pld/Nin tanks and a bunch of gimped mages. I can only imagine it being that much faster with another type of max-equiped tank.

But the argument is to decide how to award people with what job deserves this nice sword? Personally I think that depends on each group of people. If a LS perfers war/nin tanks, then it's the best choice to equip them with it. My LS has been testing Pld/nin on Tiamat, back when most people were using ninja on everything. We also reapplied it and now perfers using it for Fafhogg, so it's a moot point for us on this item for war versus other jobs.

Back to original topic of whether Blue mage can use Ridill. We can try to guess... if we knew what Blu does. To my knowledge we only can guess it's a melee/mage hybrid that does mob's moves. So, I can say "Yes, it does use Ridill because it's supposed to melee" but not much else. Be more fun to guess if we know a bit more about the job.

If ridill is blue mage usable, expect a lot of old jp ls's (or any ls 'done' with kings and doing other stuff like sea) to come back to camping kings.
The last time I was in aery there was over 100+ already, I could see that doubling if people want ridill for their blue mage.

I could see blue mage being able to weild Seiryu's Sword though It would be nice if they extend their weapon selection to katanas, I don't think its too much of a stretch, maybe have it a 'B' rated weapon or something.

You realize that argument is about the same thing as saying Koenig is better for pld than shura is for nin, so lets give ninja first lot on (anything that would benefit a pld more) because of that.

I don't think you can look at loot in terms of what each job comparably (sp?) gets, but rather what benefits the individual jobs the best.

If blue mage can use ridill, it'd be really funny, but I imagine about as useful as a bst using a ridll to any great extent.
