No I don't think Blue Mage will be able to equip it because although the Ridill does look like a scimitar think about how there are other Scimitar type weapons which RDM's and other jobs can use. So I think Ridill is more of a weapon SE would only let hxc melee jobs use.
I'm not trying to dispute anything other than saying that any particular job should get anything first because of XXX... Other then stupid stuff like "Shining Cloth to WHMs for tunics," I personally find any instance were someone argues that any job should be given priority over another as a cry for "Give me the item first!"
"give me the item first!" can be applied to crimson legs, when a RDM cries "I need it to keep up with the tanks to refresh them!". In all fairness, any non-PLD can't make a decent excuse for having priority on crimson legs because to all non-PLDs, crimson legs is just a jeuno aketon. However with Ridill, its fairly clear who gets the best use out of it and who doesn't.
Too bad Ridill is a Falchion and not a Scimitar.Originally Posted by Maguspk

If you look at my jobs, I can't use ridill and probably never will, yet I defend a certain job priority on ridill. I've seen it in action, I've looked at parses, and I still feel the same way. What you said is wrong in that case unless you're going to change it so that it somehow applies to me.Originally Posted by Okan
You don't seem to understand that a job priority system does not necessarily mean someone will always be able to lot something before someone else SOLELY based on having a particular job. Often there are additionaly ways to determine things (or at least is the case in my LS).
You seem to have problems with job priorities and I don't understand why when there are often instances that a certain job benefits more from it in more situations.
DOES ANYONE LIKE NIRVANA LOL?K RIDILL, is a cool item.
if the trojan war was set in ffxi, they wouldn't be fighting over a stolen helen, they'd be fighting over a stolen ridill, its that special.Originally Posted by anoush
sure some jobs can make more use of it, but the tired old BS of so and so can use it more is getting old. If someone works for it give it to them, i am tired of seeing other jobs that continually get passed up on nice or rare items just because of the job they have and not the time they put in.
The reason I don't like job priority is because of RNG's and Kirin's Osode. Yeah, it's laughable now that RNG got shafted, but before that most HNM LS said "We're giving priority lots of RNGs on Osode." So what happened was there was suddenly a massive influx of RNGs racing to 75 so they could get osode faster. Example again is a BRD in the LS from the beginning had an osode denied to him because a newer (Not that day new) member came in and got osode. Secondly that same BRD still in LS lost another because another person who was in since beginning finally hit 75 on his RNG... Gee. Job priority my ass. BRD's get nothing special. Let him have his glory and his osode.... By the way, my BRD is level 8 so that wasn't me. I've seen too many deserving members burned by "Job first" BS.Originally Posted by nivlakian
So you're saying if a very active summoner had a yingyang robe and a dalmatica dropped and there were rdms and brds there who didn't have a dalmatica, you'd give the dalmatica to the summoner opposed to other jobs that could benefit more (and I'm not talking about someone who just joined the LS, I'm talking in an all things being equal situation). Thats just poor judgement and the summoner being greedy wanting something that could benefit other people more.Originally Posted by Flash
THF = blau douche or w/e + thief knife is going to probably do about the same dmg more consistantly
SAM = use a great katana fkr
RNG = lol rng sucks
BST = use the axe from sea, that has its own attacks twice w/ a 75% proc using the stones, that gives you an A skill weapon instead of like an E weapon in ridill.
If you boil it down, war and drk get the most benefit out of it IN A SITUATION WHERE ALL THINGS ARE EQUAL. Nobody is saying that if someone has been in the LS since day 1 and never skipped an event but happened to be a thf should be forced to pass to someone who joined yesterday who was a war. In a situation where all conditions are equal, its a really simple concept to give it to the person its going to benefit the most.
Bard's have an entire HNM devoted entirely to them that takes 35-50 people to kill over 1-2hrs...I'd say they get some attention.Originally Posted by Okan

Meh, I haven't been to camp since like the end of August, back then and prior to you guys coming to camp they used mostly Elldorado, Reca, and a few other guys I can't think of for a couple of months.Originally Posted by Grumpy

I mean, we've killed Nidhogg in like less than 13 min with Pld/Nin tanks and a bunch of gimped mages. I can only imagine it being that much faster with another type of max-equiped tank.
Plain and simple:I'm not trying to dispute anything other than saying that any particular job should get anything first because of XXX
Would you want your WHMs and SMNs lotting against your BLMs on A.Hands?
I agree that a item shouldn't 100% go to a job before another job. I like the system my linkshell has setup, which is pretty difficult to have a short version to explain (And I'm too lazy to get into a long version), but basically there is a job priority, but there are other factors that go into it too.
Getting sea isn't that difficult, and teir 1 Jailers aren't that difficult to pop (Just shitty drops on the pop items for the other tiers. However, weapons are 100% drop). You've been there man. As much as we'd all love to get that axe, it just isn't gonna happen for everyone the way that sea works and the "difficulty" is to get to sea.
all being equal fine.
Honestly though shit is rarley "all equal".
Jobs that rarley get shit from their ls's are often screwed for what is "more beneficial" to the ls. This happens time and again. You might say lvl a new job, why the hell should someone lvl a new job for a specific item when they are deserving of it.
A lot of ls's don't camp money drops and just give them away, the reason being the other ppl there worked for it, the people that often recieve these rare/ex items often are just as vocal as those that dont. Sure a blau dolch would benefit a thief enormously, but most ls's choose to sell it. Next time you see a linkshell camping thief knife with an alliance to get thier thief one let me know.
The dalmatica and yingyang robe is kind of a retarded comparison by the way. Why would a summoner want an inferior piece of gear other than to be an asshole. If that is the case you dont want that summoner in your linkshell anyway.
No offense to you Xavier, i am sure you worked hard for what you got, but how can you really understand when you are probably the largest recipient of rare gear i have ever seen.
I would say the axe is a lot easier to get than a fucking ridill. I think i threw mine away lolzOriginally Posted by Okan
Maybe they should find a better ls then. It's hard to believe that job priority is being attacked because you particular linkshell doesn't exercise seniority. Maybe you should find a better ls that will throw you a few bones and not just give new members items they don't deserve e.g. the osode story.Originally Posted by Flash

Just because one person just joined your LS doesn't mean they haven't spent countless hours in another LS and have very little to nothing to show for it. Don't overlook newer people because they just fucking joined your LS. They could have spent many, many hours doing things with other LSes that didn't give them shit.
In the amount of time, and all the HNMs I've killed, I have a Seiryu's Kote and have gotten ~3mil in splits. Nothing else. I haven't gotten a single drop from an HNM since January. And that was the only drop I've ever gotten.
This is why all I do is level jobs and try to ignore most of the drama of the endgame scene.
That axe is a lot easier to get than a Ridill. I don't understand why people complain about getting sea access, it's actual game content. With a static of competent and reliable people you can get access within a month or so. Once you get sea you just kill a tier one lottery jailer, with a 100 percent drop rate on the axe, for it. Anyway on Midgard the vast majority of NA Ridills go to WARs and THFs, pretty equally from what I've seen. Non WAR/THF NA Ridill Scoreboard: 3 DRK, 1 SAM, 1 BST, 2 RNG, if I remember.Originally Posted by Okan
The axe is a 100% drop off the jailer. Ridill is roughly a 10% drop (for BG, its been 1% for other linkshells) off a NM that pops once a day and gets interrupted for the HQ pop, with the likelyhood to claim Fafnir low. I'd say the odds of getting the axe are astronomically higher than getting a ridill.Originally Posted by Okan
Why would a thf want a ridill when dual wielding a blau douche and another dagger would be more dmg to them, and furthermore ridill is a D rating to them. ITS THE EXACT same comparison, a job wanting an inferior piece of gear just because its rare and cool and increases the e-penis.Originally Posted by Flash
Wouldn't that kinda make me the most likely to understand the amount of work that goes into getting the rarest items in the game? Wouldn't that make me an expert on the usefulness of equipment for 1 job vs. the other. If I actually HAVE the items we're talking about and you don't, doesn't that make me significantly more informed on their usefulness for certain jobs than you would know? No offense to you Flash, but you're speaking of things that I don't think you have much first hand knowledge of.Originally Posted by Flash
