How is Annatar, a thief, hitting for 90 on a melee hit?

Annatar was probably /drk and had souleater active or was /war with berserk + warcry. Remember that Roc is weak to piercing and is technically a low lvl mob. with /drk and souleater I can hit Kirin for 45-50 with a stinking Thief's knife...


Beyond that, the sharkbite damage he did wasnt that great, I was hitting 1750 at lvl 67 with my thf on Roc. The light damage is nice. Must have been a 2 step chain. Got to love them.

Why does no one seem to realize that obi is actually *bad* for max damage (although very very good for average damage when it is applicable, of course)? Theoretically you could randomly get all the bonuses obi will give along with extra damage from INT in waist slot...

lol that's really not too impressive on roc, just do a fragmentation (or is it fusion for sharkbite?) before going and voila. Roc is uber weak to drg/thf/rng.

Because proc rate on weather/day bonus is so extremely low that if you were going for a one time high burst you'd want to wear your obi to guarentee the weather/day bonus.

1kish. Every billion years. Sneak attack + gekko does over 1k consistantnly, which is why /thf >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> /war

I've done a 1102 jinpu with war sub though, that said. lolz.

Sadly in an EXP PT /war > /thf. I could pull consistent 600-1000s on Weapons.

Only example of /thf being good is on some HNMs. Double Attack, Berserk, Warcry > Sneak Attack

I think Benny was just pointing out that there was no reason for Banigaru to point out that he didn't have an obi at the time since if you get the bonus without it (you'd have on some other waist item) you'd get higher damage.

How about a lvl 85 Bird Mob? Double Minuet, no Soul Voice. Could have possibly done more, but killed the mob, no SC either.

My highest burst until I hit 75 was 1604 MB'd Burst in Boyada Tree at 56. Lightning Day, double lightning weather, and I got lucky and got all 3 bonuses. And there was a drg in the pt...
