Eh, I think I'm gonna stop coming to Blue Gartr forums. Once upon a time, these forums were filled with FFXI drama that beat the shit out of all soap-operas on TV, interesting posts about people killing some new NM (though that happened fairly seldom) or BG just bragging about some uber lewtz. Which was entertaining too.
Now when I come here, all I see is; A) the same shitty "OMFG CARBON/TONYANJAII/MY MOM/THE GUY NEXT DOOR RMTS LAWL" threads that hold absolutely no humor or even point nowadays, B) the "WoW vs. FFXI part XXXXXXXVII" threads, that I've grown rather tired of, since it doesn't matter shit what YOU think about WoW/FFXI/Square-Enix/Blizzard, because your opinions are not gonna change how I feel about these things, or how others feel about those things and of course the C) FFXI endgame sucks, let's bitch about something again while we try to figure out how to beat Absolute Virtue without actually trying to experiment on the mob since the pop conditions are gay.
So we get the same pointless shit topics every day. Hell, even Allakhazam is better; sure they recycle the shit topics there, but at least there are more shit topics in the cycle.
What I'm trying to say is this; this forum isn't entertaining nor informative any more, and as much as it pains me to say this, it might've actually been BGs worst decision to include WoW boards on their forums and announce so publicly that the core group is leaving for WoW.

For what it's worth though, I still admire you guys. I never did get to experience FFXI endgame (not sure if'd even want to anymore, had I the chance) aside from few Behe camps with RotP, but the videos and stories you guys and gals posted about FFXI endgame were really inspiring and kept me playing FFXI.

I'll probably check the replies for this thread, so if you have any last minute flames, feel free to do so. Keep in mind though, that I wasn't very well known or rich player while I played FFXI, so you might have to come up with shit to flame me about on yourself.
I hope I haven't offended anyone badly while posting here, and wish everyone here all the best.

These are a community site forums...they aren't alla. Its supposed to be about the actual people in that community posting their problems and frustrations with the game.

If you're wondering why nobody is posting about endgame...its because there is nothing left to post about. Its all been done, and any information can be referenced in previous posts. The reason that people are posting absurd ideas about AV and J.Lo is because they are literally the last uncharted territory in the game as of now, and its basically the only thing left to figure out how to kill reasonably. What exactly are you looking for now? I don't really (and this is serious), know what you hope to expect people to talk about anymore.

Those times are gone, everything thats currently in the game has been talked to death about.

That's a very interesting comment to make, but based on your complaints, I don't think thats really the source of the problem. Even without the WoW breakoff and those forums, there would still be nothing new to talk about in the FFXI talk. Until new content is released...I don't really know how you expect people to keep things exciting. Its been mostly the same stuff for over 3 years, there just comes a point where the only thing you can talk about is someone rmting to keep things going.

if you're on these forums as much as i am, you should be use to lulls in activity like this.

this always happens a month or so after a patch, where everything about the previous patch that can be talked about has been talked about.

and the new patch notes for the next patch isn't out yet. activity picks up when new patch info comes out, which is already beginning to happen.

the drama stuff is random, if nothing is going on in game, people can't generate random drama on the forums as easily. also some of the most dramatic people in BG have left for WoW so that's a relevant but small factor.
