safehold will be really fun to pull in.. "oops, linked the top and bottom floors ! sry!"
"The area was created with comments in mind that Dynamis requires too much time and too many people, and as a result, Limbus was made comparatively less demanding. "
I don't think they understand time too well. The only reason Dynamis took (and still takes) a lot of time is because the drops are so sparse. If we could go in there once and everyone comes out with a full suit of AF2, then it wouldn't take much time at all, now would it? Limbus is just as bad. You're looking at probably 15+ runs, 30 hours, to get yourself 1 item, double that for the harder ones. Pretty much on par with Dynamis.
As for the timer thing... it would be kinda good if it's on the dynamis timer. Otherwise you're looking at every existing dynamis linkshell trying to squeeze into these 3 zones at the same time, and in bigger linkshell's cases, trying to get into 2 zones at once. The only reason Limbus is working is because there aren't all that many people with Sea access and there are 7 + 3 + 2 zones. If there is only 1 instance of these 3 new dynamis zones and the entry requirement isn't very high, it's going to be a huge huge mess.
I agree completely with that post, but I bet if I had made it, you would've disagreed with me 8)Originally Posted by FFXIFlux
I'm curious what you all consider 'clearing' because a lot of you are saying that you can clear the area's with only 20-30 people. Do you mean just killing the boss? which is a pathetically simple task, or killing every mob within the zone?(the latter is what i consider clearing)
I'm sure that the new dynamis area's are going to be a cross between the old dynamis area's and limbus. It can hold 36 people, 2x limbus and 1/2 of regular dynamis, and i'm sure will have similar time restraints. Normal dynamis 3 1/2 hours, limbus 1ish hour(both can be cleared in under those amounts). I predict that the new dynamis area's will fall around 2 hours.
I can see buburimu and valkurm being the 'main cities' qufim being the 'beaucedine' and safehold being the 'xarcabard' of these new area's. I wasn't that interested when CoP came out, but i'm actually looking forward to these new playgrounds as well as the new version update that's supposed to be coming out sometime in the coming month.
As far as the safehold dynamis, I would imagine the boss pull would be on the bottom floor near the aquaduct zone and you'd fight him in that central area at the bottom of the stairs. That is the only area i can think of where this fight could take place without being in a hallway where you couldn't manuever enough to fight the boss.
What class of monster to you think will be in the new zones? In the main cities it is painfully clear, the beastman represent their own nation area's. But what mobs would be in valkurm, buburimu and qufim? Would it be random mobs as in limbus, or is there some area specific class i'm not seeing. I would think that safehold would have fomors.
I'd also like to see stringent requirements to enter these area's, i'd expect nothing less from SE than to make a new area a pain in the ass to get to.
Its going to be "Vangaurd Bogy" and "Vangaurd Gambler". Just that there will be no Selbina/Mahura zone to save you. What class of monster to you think will be in the new zones? Im betting dunes will be gobs and ghosts, bub being maybe yagudo and gobs, quifim was already seen as gobs, but I am willing to bet we get giants too, and safehold as fomor, or perhaps orc, since they represent the highest concentration of mobs in that areaOriginally Posted by Skyylya
it might just be like the 4 main current dynamis citys, dunes is quadav, bub is yagudo, quifim is gob, tav is orc
Are you all forgetting how fucking small Tavnzanian Safehold is ??
It's smaller than Ru'Lude Gardens...
I think the majority of dynamis linkshells are 30ish people and call clearing just killing the boss. Interlopers on Gilgamesh is probably in the minority with 50+ people, which lets us wipe out the entire zone with lots of time left over. I'd be interested to know how Wafik's BLM dynamis shell works though, how many people and how much they clear.Originally Posted by Skyylya
Is it me or Sage Sundai doesn't follow what he says... they insist that they don't plan to work for the end-game players but the last 2 version updates are completely based on end-game content.. And I have to say Limbus is a good addition (It has a balanced system for attaining items, but only if you have a well organized linkshell) and I am really looking forward the new dynamis zones.
The only thing I do not like about this is the that its every 3 days, but if it takes less time then the current zones then you could probably fit in 2 dynamis every 3 days and still do dynamis 2 days a week.
Yes but you're also going to have half as many people in the zone than in ru'lude gardens. And if it's anything like regular dynamis where you have one alliance dedicated to statue's etc... and everyone else working on mobs, then you can expect to only have one alliance crowded into the fighting area...all in all i don't see a problem with that. Are you all forgetting how fucking small Tavnzanian Safehold is ??

Oh yeah.. if they have the same AF from regular dynamis.. each job has 5 pieces. Theres 4 zones. I guess this is a good turn where each job will have 1 dynamis will drop 2 things for it, where regular dynamis has 1 zone where each job gets nothing. No more blms not wanting to go to sandy cause of no af.![]()

They didn't say ALL the AF would drop here. I'm thinking we'll only see the 3 cities AF.Originally Posted by Not Kuno

I'm less concerned about the timer...what concerns me is the bit about being able to upgrade existing relic equipment.
If you look at the Limbus model, you need key items + ancient coins (limbus currency). Does this mean to upgrade our AF2 (it seems to be what they're hinting at) you'll need currency? That could really suck...it's hard enough to get currency as it is. My LS has a good system in place for it, but if everyone suddenly needs currency for AF2 upgrades, it could really blow hard.
Of course, that Sage Sundi interview talked about changes to Dynamis in regards to relic weapons...maybe it's some upgrades to relic weapons that are more obtainable? Such as maybe you can upgrade a stage 1 relic with a limited amount of the WS charges. That would be interesting...
I'm going to laugh so hard when people gather at the Trail Markings in Valkrum and all these nubs sit and look and check everyone and faint.
My two biggest problems with Dynamis is that it is long and boring (3.5 hours or non-stop refresh = /cry) and that it is so laggy. Limbus is MUCH better in both respects because it has a much faster pace (generally less than an hour) you have a max of 18 people and generally less than 6 mobs on the screen at once (therefore a ton less lag).
A 36-person cap on the CoP Dynamis zones is interesting; hopefully there will have a shorter time limit and less mobs so that it is less laggy.
