Somehow I don't think so, but I only really used the mantle for 1 fight.

It only went off one time at Jorm (I think it was like an hour and 15 minute fight), and that was def. when my shadows were down and I was in the middle of recast (it saved my life tho so props to it). I could've just gotten unlucky and it just didn't proc when I had shadows up, but I doubt it. If its true that means its a really good piece to always have on.

In my exp parties as PLD/NIN, I haven't had the Mantle once proc while I had shadows up. I've had it many time proc as I cast Ichi thus preventing the mob from interrupting me.

a PLD in my dynamis linkshell claimed that he saw the shadow mantle negate damage over his shadows. Though I'm not entirely sure, no proof of it nor was I with him when he saw it happen. Could just be bs'ing.

He's BS'ing. Our LS leader has had for months and is both PLD75/NIN75, and tanks everything for our LS. The mantle does absolutely nothing when shadows are up, it only possibly activates when shadows are down.

FYI just so folks have an idea, it procs like 5% range...so like about as often as Double Attack fires is the proc rate for it. Otherwise put, if you tanked with it for 3 minutes as ninja and it didn't save you a shadow, then it doesn't save you shadows at all.

As seen in this picture, it seems that if the shadow mantle procs on a multi-hit, it will annul all the hits (Tiamat does the Tripple and Double attack ever so often). At least that is our theory on it. I have yet to try it on something like Chabby or in Ballista vs Ridill or Joyeuse.
