Who is worse? DRG or RNG?

We still have a full PT of Rangers on Kirin. The damage is just a bit more variable since the distance adjustments. Even post-patch, we never go over an hour on kills.

i dunno i was in a D weapon pt a few weeks ago with a taru rng, he was pushin out some sweet dmg: 120+ a shot, 800+ slug shot. not bad in my opinion. in end game though? i dunno they arnt THAT bad. shadowbind is still needed >.>b.

the patch just made it so you only want 1-2 rangers, changing the strategy from "throw more rangers at it" to "throw more black mages at it"

doesnt really work like that, since blm's really need a skillchain to go unresisted on gods.

Rangers still own for mobile damage, and when STR'd and /WAR out, they still do good WS damage. However in XP nomad setups, they do about half what they were capable of before. My last nomad with a ranger was:

MNK 32%
WAR 28%
NIN 22%
RNG 17%

Ranger was pimped too. But certain end game NMs they still own.

I would have to disagree with this statement. As a 75 RNG/NIN I can solo DC-T mobs and also successfully farmed all my aqua and flame gorget organs (except for yovra of course) solo. The trick is to have a low delay xbow like repeating/machine and a variety of bolts: sleep, bloody, blind etc.

For rng to work in sky these days, they really need to be swinging multi hit weapons for TP build and then back off for WS. I've invited a friend to a few meritpo groups, and he keeps up with the pimped out wars - the difference is he is able to pull more than 1 WS per fight on occasion (more so for Auras than decos), which helps his damage.

KC + ridill are not general equipment for most rng's though. And he is still spending more gil than a comparable war for the same or slightly less dmg.

MNK don't have a place in a lot of exp parties for like 60 levels because of lack of good skillchains and places to exp on, so they do get it rough still imo.

Well even though DRK and SAM too do not get viable WSes until level 60, unlike MNK they can still create distortion skill chains with thieves. I wouldn't want to level with a MNK pre-60.
