I got invited to a party once on my nin and a member had jp pt only in their search info, so I said in pt chat.

|Umm| the war in this pt has jp pt only, so obviously he dosen't want me in the party.

and disbanded. I got a tell from the leader(jp who could speak english) he was like, no no that means he can't speak english. I said he could just use |I don't speak any english| and not be offencive. and he goes yeah but then he might get invited to a pt with a english leader. I don't understand how he thought I would not be offended by that.

SE need to add "JP ONLY" and "Anyone expect japanese ONLY!" to the auto translate function since most jp are too good to pt with anyone not jp japan>all the world

I'd wager to say that Americans are just as racist but overall more tolerating of other cultures due to our history. Its the difference in talking shit about someone behind their back and talking shit to their faces while holding hands I guess.

Beyond conversing to pass the time, there is not one thing in an exp pt that I could not communicate with auto-translate. BFD if the person doesn't speak the same language. We all know how to hit the attack button.

I disagree, being in an English PT you can always argue more effectively then in a JP PT. In a JP PT you're just kinda following around doing whatever, if a person pulls the wrong mobs or links a lot you can't exactly offer advice, you can't suggest a good route in a roaming PT and explain it, in an emergency you can't quickly explain what to do, if people are discussing where to camp you can't effectively input your advice and reasoning. You can't effectively tell the MNK/THF to change subs and why, sure you can do it in the auto-trans, but what if they disagree, what if they wanna keep doing what they're doing? It's a lot harder to persuade and pressure a JP PT then it is an English one.

Thats because if your in a jp pt, and you have a suggestion that's not what they are doing. your obviously wrong and they are sorry they invited you in the first place . I don't mind jp parties, I pass the time with ls chat during most NA parties anyway, rarely do I find a party where I like the members enough to actually talk to them. unless it's an ls meripo pt, then you need to be ready to tease that first sub 500ws 8). unless it's me .
