I went 3 wind 2 ice, bind is a dangerous spell to use seeing as it will hit the closest thing to it and is easily broken by a nuke or melee hit, whereas silence and gravity are more useful (imo). Paralyze though, is a solid reason to get ice accuracy, but the thing about RDM is to be varied, so don't specialize in 1 element too much.

I don't think that the spell Bind breaks from damage like Shadowbind. on mobs that I have soloed, I have been able to cast as many as 3 tier 3 nukes, (between 1000-1500 damage or more depending on resists) before Bind fell off. I think it is just the very random nature of the spell that makes people think that it breaks from damage.

MWM landed slow, paralyze and blind all the time on tiamat without every getting resisted.

He had ( ) max merits for his rdm and was elvaan so the high mind kinda gave him an edge.

You're also able to land silence but i dunno how long it last. I've seen it stick.

You're an idiot if you cast Silence on tiamat (Blazer).

When I was silencing Tiamat, they would last a good amount of time. Probably one or two touchdowns. Once silenced Tiamat just spammed the fireball move. (not sure of the name or the visual effects.. crappy comp) but it was just easier for the tanks.

It does. It will break on practically the first melee hit. It's rare it lasts for more than 1 or 2 nukes for me on EM+. I can keep NMs in Dynamis-Xarcabard bound long enough for the spell to be castable again, but breath on them and it breaks.

wtf? paralyzing Tiamat? I can land silence reliably.. but never ever got Paralyze to land.. 333 enfeebling.. wow that's just fucked up on my part then.

Usually for any King, I'll just stick with Duelist's Chapeau, Errant Hpl, Mahatma Slops, Enfeebling Earring, Errant Cape, Tamas Ring, Aqua Ring, Errant feet, and appropriate staff or mythic+nunimous shield and it works perfect. Nothing like seeing Faf/Nid be paralyzed for 5 strait turns. :D

Can you give some examples of mobs and spells where you notice Wise+1 making a difference? I don't want to go through the hassle of carrying around more gear, but if it offers a noticeable improvement, then I guess I would get it.

Can you land it consistently? Maybe your ice merits are contributing to this.

um yeah.... ok so i'll look into the paralyze on Tiamat thing. Never once landed it but i tried like 4 times and give up. OBVIOUSLY it would be like ginormous but never once seen it stick, and my LS has the top 3 RDM's on the server (zomg JP included)

3 accuracy is unnoticeable (by the time you can wear that JSE). There are no mobs you would be able to see the difference without running tests in the thousands of samples.

The ones I've seen that have been noticable for me is towards the end of the fight where the mob starts resisting which as far as my list goes has been Fafnir, Nidhogg, Vrtra, Jormungand, Aspid and a few poppable nms here and there. Some people I know don't like or use them but it seems to get the trick done for me. I had nq wise though for a while until the LS gave me an HQ made by our LS leathercrafter. Nq isn't too expensive if you want to try for yourself.

As far as I know only gravity (since Feb 2004 update) and sleep and maybe bind have resistance built up to them. I've never seen any other spell get tougher to land, even in marathon Kirin fights. Fafnir's resistance to sleep is pretty wild now. I remember before all those ballista changes he was pretty sleepable, now... we had 2 rdm and 1 blm in aery and got claim, everyone else was on the way from Aspi, after our 3 sealed sleeps it was nearly impossible to land Sleep 2, the BLM ended up landing it... which goes to show that luck > +80 enfeebling.

rofl @ Ulmega, but yeah I've seen Wyrm fights where Curtis and me have slow fine at the beginning and then towards the end start getting resistance, so I dunno, it just seems to build one over longer fights.

    Get

    Wise Braconi +1

That HQ box is amazing, and considering end game RDM life is basically all luck anyways since enfeebling magic is more based on luck than how high your skill is.

    HQ box or bust.

    I'd say...

Nashira Seraweels - Divine magic skill +5 Enfeebling magic skill +5 Magic Accuracy+3 Haste+2%

@.@ Thats like a spider torque and wise braconi+1 on your legs, w/mahatma slops swapping given the proper situation... RDM need some expansion slots for items XD This is rediculous.

While the armor sounds great, you have to think aobut people who don't have access to sea and those who don't have an LS capable of doing Limbus. I know this is an HNM forum, but these items don't grow on trees D:

All the +enfeebling skill in the world will still make enfeebling pretty fucking random.

This is the worst thing I've ever heard, because 3 ACC and 8 STR is nowhere near clear cut by any means.
