Those are some really gimp parses. I don't merit with people that can't break 10% critical hit rate, thats just crappy. Accuracy is below 95% too, and wow those wars suck ass on WS damage. Try meriting with skilled players...

Did you do a search on Ridill? There are quite a few discussions about it (but it may be hard to find). Personally I'd rather not see another "THIS IS WHY XXX JOB SHOULD GET RIDILL" discussion.

honestly i dunno lol, so take it at face value. that's just what he said, so /shrug.

That being said, there are two WAR in particular in our shell that are sufficiently merited and pimped out, and some talk has gone back and forth as to setting up a melee burn PT with those two plus the THF. It's clear from the parses that the WARs have room for improvement, but likewise so does the THF. Regardless, it proves that THFs aren't the pieces of shit that everyone views them as, and if a pimped out WAR does an additional 20% damage, then he'll be about equal to the THF in this particular PT (who, btw, was using a Martial Knife and a Sirocco Kukri).

Anyway, if you know a severely pimped out THF, invite them to your next axe burn and post some parses of your own. (not you in particular Magicker, just the others who aim to discredit the parse because the WARs weren't getting 10% crit or higher, etc)

WAR/NIN without Ridills are possibly the biggest hype ever. Basically the only time they're really good is if they're completely loaded on haste gear and switch to full STR gear for WS (The first of which costing a fuck ton that hardly anybody can afford it, the second one all of the good STR gear drops off of endgame mobs), and even then they're just "on par" with the other jobs. Hell, I know a SAM/WAR that outdamages good non-Ridill WARs on Deco's.

And woot for this update. Might be able to get my sword skill higher then my G.Axe skill. 8)

I haven't found a war that can out DD me lately. Not since I capped dagger/crits/triple. However I think my server is weak for warrior's. And yes, this is calling out someone to challenge me to a DD contest. I wouldn't mind the merits even when I lose :D I've been the top DD in my party for the last 15-20 merits I've received.

Edit: All my parties have been 6k+/hour (other than an LS pt where I PL'd a drk/thf, drg/war, etc without bard) and closer to 7-8k/hour depending on if there are actually decent DD's in the party.

A pimped out WAR will out DD a pimped out THF. I guess you're right, your server has weak WARs :/ But yeah, you still do some hot damage with max merits and ridill.

I'm too lazy to quote all the other people calling our WAR's gimped.

Perhaps I'll post SS's when I get of work to verify my findings. Some of those WAR's were 'run of the mill' (i.e. Maneater/Jugger, Hauberk, etc) whereas some were better... If you think an E. Body is single handedly going to jack your damage 5%+ you're wrong; perhaps a Ridill, but we didn't have the luxury of testing Cujo with all-Ridill WAR's. Regardless, as Divisortheory stated earlier, its not a parse to show that THF can outDD every WAR - it was a parse to show that THF doesn't suck ass. Cujo out-DD'd everone else in TWO parties - you can't tell me that if you replaced any of those WAR's with one who had both Ridill and E body that all of a sudden THF would 'suck ass'; its not gonna happen. As Divisor challenged before - instead of talkin smack, go make your own meripo party, and look at the parses yourself - at the very least, show us parses of a WAR/NIN out-DD'ing a THF to contest the parses shown here!

The problem is, for THF to keep up - they *need* that ridill. Without it, their tp gain doesn't add much to overall DoT. I do agree that a very nicely equipped thf that knows to use SATA+WS everytime he has the TP to do so can keep up with decently equipped WARs.

Hell, I've invited an LS thf to merit in KRT with 2 monks before, Titan + KC ftw Sata True-strike does pretty good damage, about 800-1100 or so on skeles.

Edit: That means that if you have a fully merited THF in your LS (At the moment fully)... Take them. They're not going to do 90-100 a hit like the WAR was in that screen, but they'll do consistant 1200-1400 or higher. We have RNGs doing 1600 Slugs on weapons. That WAR in the screen that did 900 has done 1601 on the dot.

I also chuckled about the fact that "THF's NEED Ridill to keep up". Ridill has turned out to be a waste not only for SAM's in our LS but now THF's, and I believe lotting priority is changing to reflect this. Something to be said when Ridill isn't even used in a melee-burn PT on VT mobs (even with capped sword skill, and results to back up the choice, not "I dont want to use my rare as hell sword today")

Dude, you know I hold you in high regards...but that party where I was busting my balls to keep up with wars was making 9-10k / hr...the xp / hr reflects the quality of the members in the party.
