We were also on pace to get more than 8k/hour. But we were stuck at the deco camp on the way to water and 1) There weren't enough weapons and 2) the brd was new to pulling and had no chance of keeping the chain up between the two sides. We were limited by having to wait 5min or so for repops more than the dmg we were doing. Still did over 3.5k in 30min.Originally Posted by NynJa
Like it was stated above, the point isn't that THF > all, but thf has the chance to keep up.
The reason war's are so awesome is because they have: Multi-hit WS, good attack/str, and Double attack to attack faster. Monks have /war double, kick attacks, etc. THF has really really fast attacks and can buff TRIPLE and insanely exploit the tp floor. When a thf is given a bard to cement an adequate attack rating, thf can nearly keep up with these jobs based on those aspects of the class. You need to look at why war and mnk are the top DD's and see if you can turn your DD job into something similar to that. And how you can use your class to make up for anything you're short on compared to those jobs. For thf, it's dagger selection and attack rating. And there isn't really a way to get a good attack rating without a bard for us =/
But also like has been stated earlier, it usually takes a thf trying really hard to keep up with these other classes.

Exp pt I just dc'd from cause it sucked ass and my LS wants to go to (sea). My thf/nin using sushi vs their thf/war. No bard as well so my attack sucked, I just attacked so often I won out handily lol
Blau Dolch / Sirocco Kukri ftw.
I like using Ridill on THF in merit PTs.![]()
Lately I'm too lazy to do any real merit point PTs except duoing with bard friends, but yeah, Hojo + Carnage Elegy already lets me basically go take naps or read books between attacks, and I doubt better NINs than me can pretty much infinitely tank anything that doesn't go SSJ or have too many shadow-wiping abilities. with those. Ninjas simply don't run out of shadows with those on.
As a result, I kinda doubt Massacre's debut in March (it was March, right?). Although I definitely wouldn't complain, I want more naps and more powerful bards make eeeeverything better.
Minuet V PRZ? D=< uhawwwokkkwww
Thanks for the THF observations, I'll have to relay those to one of my friends leveling it, she's recently caught the THF stigma. =( ::memos Sirocco Kukuri::
They should add fishing merits. Every player loves fishing.

i wonder what kinda damage thief could do with the body armor dropped from omega and a brutal earring. Would it turn the thief into a walking kraken club?
I hate kraken clubs in XP, they get tanks killed.Originally Posted by Flash

It's nice to see people defending THFs as to what they are capable of in merit parties. I remember in past threads on here, people would always bash thieves... I didn't understand really since I've seen otherwise (and without a ridill). >_>;
Frisk is mine!

Because there's a huge difference between an average THF and a good one.
I remember leveling with a good THF and she was hitting 500 - 800 Dancing Edges on Gobbues in the 60's. Tonight I partied with a THF who could barely break 450.
THF requires a lot of skill to use properly. Not only do you need to consider gear swaps for WS, etc. But also timers for SA and TA determine the timeframe you have to get TP, and use WS.
I have that body armor, and 44/75 for a Brutal Earring. The Triple Attack bonus is nice, sometimes I just keep swinging for what seems like ages. That being said, my Triple Attack has zero merits in it, if I had a Brutal Earring, WAR sub, and fully merited Triple Attack, i honestly can't even fahtom to think about it.Originally Posted by Flash
I am only missing the Homam body to get that. And I might get to be @1 for it. Should fight Omega within the week as long as enough people show for NW Apollyon tomorrow. Capped triple, AF2 feet, brutal earring. I'm not a huge fan of /war (anymore), and won't make many people deal with that TP spam until THF gets their own Subtle Blow. But I'll do it for fun at some point.Originally Posted by divisortheory
Run some tests on the Homam Body when you get around to it. I tried to run a test once and came up with about 5% (base + homam), but then a day later when I wasn't keeping track I just was swinging like a madman the entire party.
Speaking of which, do you know what base is? I always thought it was 5%, but that test where i came up with 5% with Homam body made me suspicious.
it would still be nice with /nin because it gives the trait right?Originally Posted by Eaglestrike

I'd honestly prefer the max merit points to stay the same for each sub category and just the combo-total double or triple. I don't like how there is a tradeoff right now between one magic skill and the others. I have max elemental magic right now and can't put merits into any other magic category. I would like to be able to at least merit singing/wind/string skill for my bard, but can't without gimping my blm.
I could also be greedy and say I want max enfeeble for sleep and max dark for drain/aspirs.
