sorry for no order but...
dont outtank him thats stupid...you're supposed to kill him not treat him like an exp mob. use attack gear...all attack gear, the additional dmg you take will be marginal. if you are galka or elvaan maybe mp gear wherever u cant put attack, if other put hp where u cant use attack.
use swift blade not vorpal ( vorpal can do more but swift blade is more reliable dmg). you have ablilities, use them.
when you open he'll cast a spell (flash or banishIII) if its flash wait it out and start your ws after your blind wears off. if its banish III open with a swift blade to interupt. save your shield bash for his next banish III and do not miss it. use flash when its up and everytime its up. use rampart to start and sentinel immediately after it wears off.
you can kite i suppose if it makes you feel better but it will probably just mess you up, use invincible when you are low on hp and mp, or in an emergency ( you are about to die ) that should buy you 30 sec to med up back into the game.
take attack food and i really dont think you can lose if all you take is a vile and a vile +1. scenario should be like this : you have 1/4 hp/mp invincible -> vile + vile +1 (have it macroed lazy ass) and you should be at 100% status. use that 20ish secs to collect your thoughts and refocus.
cant say it more...attack attack attack
like someone said before u can use those blink bands and stoneskin belts...they'll help but dont use them after the initial use[/i]
You could also make fun of a lv60 PT in Onzozo and get an Assault Jerkin to beat Maat like one PLD did on my server.![]()
damn dude you're on a roll today :DOriginally Posted by layoneil

I went in with my exp gear, potions, regen hp and mp food, ethers and an icarus wing. It took 4 vorpal blades and I killed him on my first try. Then I forgot a warp scroll and had to walk all the way back :/
It has been years since I did it but don't you get a free warp scroll afterwards?Originally Posted by Beecher

On PLD (and a few other jobs I think), you need to do 1800 damage to beat Maat. Just wait till you're 70 to do the fight.Originally Posted by Litoriceboi

lol do exp scrolls level you up or just take you to 1 xp before cap?
They ding you. I've never tried doing it personally, but I tested it outside a fight, and it does in fact level you up and completely fill your hp/mp
That was something that some RDMs suggested. They would hit 70 and cap their skills, then die a few times to delevel to 60 but still stay within @100~300. The idea was to go into the fight naked with almost no MP and HP, equip your gear then use the scroll to refill your stats. People believed that Maat mimics your stats, so leveling up was supposed to give you an edge over a really weak Maat. (I doubt that the stat mimicing is real though, you could enter the BC after eating a bowl of cursed soup, then use an antacid to remove the effect though.)

use a blink band at start too, that way you dont get blinded from flash and can ws out the gates.
waste of money, just wait till it's over..PLD maat is a joke anywaysOriginally Posted by supaswimma
