im a huge fan of the movies but i dont follow the comics, can someone explain some of these guys like pheonix, juggernaut, and angel? and did i see cyclops and that dr.x protege woman turn evil or something?

im confused =/

Phoenix- A primal force and remnant of Creation. In the original universe, it came to Earth seeking a host to allow it to defend against a threat that would destroy reality. It found Jean Grey (Marvel Girl) and used her as a template while her own body was place in a cocoon to heal itself from radiation poisoning. Phoenix is well recognized as having the potential to be the second most powerful being in the universe. (After the Creator.)

Juggernaut- Cain Marco, Professor Xavier's step-brother, gained posession of the Gem of Cyrronak (might be misspelled) making him one of the strongest beings on the planet. (About Hulk level.) Grew up hating Xavier because of his father but has decided to try to turn his life around and is now a good guy in Excalibur.

Angel- Warren Worthington III, head of the global Worthington Industries. His family fortune puts him towards the bottom of the Fortune 500 list, and developed large bird-like wings that sprouted from his back. With them he can fly in excess of 200 miles per hour, he also has hollow bones, very strong vision, and close to super-human strength.

At the end of X-2, Cyclops was brainwashed into attacking the X-Men, Jean Grey fought him but their battle damaged the dam. She sacrificed her own life in order to save the rest of the X-Men, but even during the battle with Cyclops, the Phoenix Force started to manifest itself through her. This next movie is going to pick up from there.

Nice glad I am not the only kid who watched them while growing up. Also the Sipder-Man cartoon series on FOX was kickass as well.

I thought I heard somewhere that Brian Singer (also directed The Usual Suspects) won't be directing this one so I don't know if it'll be any good. IMO he made the first two movies really worth watching.

The guy they brought in to direct had a really horrible rap of wanting to kill off the franchise etc, and I heard a lot of rumors that the script sucked and the movie was going to turn out really bad.

Then I saw the trailer, and suddenly I had hope that they were just that, rumors. The trailer looks good, hopefully it all comes together to be a great movie.

I loved the FOX cartoons of spider-man and x-man, grew up on them, every saturday I looked forward to them, etc. I still watch them whenever I see them on randomly.

I'll take your word for that. I watched the old X-Men cartoons a lot while growing up and just loved it anytime Bishop and Cable were involved. I never got involved in it enough to know the ins and outs of the timeline.
