The media exists to make money, they're not a charity organization. You're naive beyond help if you don't think for one second that they won't slant/mislead the viewers on their news reports if they can create a more controversial report for higher ratings. If I were you, I'd think twice before depending on the media to support your arguement, especially when it's common knowledge that the news media is very much inclined to show only the bad part and leaves out the good.
As for the usage of WP... cry me a river and get over it, it's not an illegal weapon, and it certainly wasn't deployed in an illegal manner. Frankly, "how" isn't really all that important anyway. Killing is killing, whether it's getting flash-burned, ripped in half by a 50 cal, blown-up and scattered across a couple hundred yards by a landmine, or vaporized by a 500 lbs bomb dropped by a F-18. You're dead one way or another, whether it's the insurgents or us.
If I was in command of a squad or platoon going door to door, and I know that there are insurgents holed up in a building waiting for us. You're damned right I'm going to call for fire on that building if that option is available to me, whether it's air, artillery or armor.
Bototm line is, this is a fricking war, and we are a hell of a lot nicer and constrained to the insurgents then they are to us. It would not be very difficult to make the entire province of Al Anbar into a literal wasteland. I just don't know why some people would freak over the smallest thing that the US does, and seems to be perfectly fine with what the insurgents do.
