I wanted to level DRK and do /NIN since all the warriors do it and they seem to kick but in XP, but the majority of the DRK's I see are lacklusted in comparision (not saying you guys suck) Although I don't know how widely accepted that would be, would probably need a static or make all my PT's if I did that.

As for the one hand and two hand thing, remember that hand to hand > both of you! Muahaha!

I think Square was visonary w/ 3 kings and sky. One of the best endgame systems in any MMO I've played on the grounds of time vs. reward. The problem is that they haven't done shit since then, which in turn ruined 3 kings by forcing 10 linkshells to compete for their drops, instead of having the stronger groups move onto new endgame freeing up the old endgame for new people.

also: do you think this may have been what SE planned when they made sea a pain in the ass to get, the jailor's drops so shitty, and JoL/AV so impossibly hard/not100%pop(which sucks)... maybe it was to occupy more time of more powerful ls's and keep them off things like the 3 kings in order to help balance out the issues of zomg 10 linkshells and 150 in the DA? or is that wishful thinking? and has this been thought about brought up before?

That would be the case if Sea actually dropped good things

Actually Sky and HNMs were less populated for a very long time when they released the end of CoP, many of the high ranking LS were trying to finish CoP and get into Sea, only to find the drops there are absolutely shit, so now they'er back, it worked for a littel while, but then SE can't do anything right can they?

I have an adaman hauberk and other equally pimp gear but, I still suck because I don't have a ridill or kraken meaning subbing /nin isn't a viable option for me MEANING I'm not viable in merit PTs. You can't call other DRKs gimp or lacklustre if they don't have a kraken or ridill, nor will you having a static PT allow you to magically hit for 3+ times in a row.

My experiences have obviously differed from yours, I have done tests and found DRK/NIN silly. So have my DRK friends. Maybe they vary damage equations by servers, sounds like something SE would do

What was wrong with doing great dps and great rampage damage, consistently and most importantly: constantly....?

All you need is a ridill or kraken.

2 drks in my LS with crazy gear and stuff, and i never see them use scythes in exp pt (crazy gear = both have ace's helm, adaman hauberk, ridill, kraken, woodsvilles, rajas ring, so on). We even joke around with one of them, asking if he got Nightmare Scythe yet, since he doesnt use scythe for anything at all (cop wyrms, dynamis, anything XD). The other still uses death scythe+1 on some things, but almost always drk/nin with ridill and woodsvilles or kraken and woodsvilles. The only xp place that might differ is in sea, where the mobs are IT+ and hitting consistently with a scythe and dmg food might be better (full scythe merits and equipment and stuff)

In my experience drk/nin is superior for merits due to utsusemi:ni. That's really the biggest reason - on VT's DRK/WAR may do more dmg but I really don't know seeing as I don't have a parser - however I find it unlikely.
