They're at least somewhat useful in panic situations now and for BC's. They're really not that bad DoT in an exp party, I've been in parties where a drg has beaten me and I have beaten many war's and mnk's myself. They lack a good ws and especially a good one for HNM's, that's all now. They have some more burst dmg and if done right can solo sc with their 2 hour, heh.
Wait, solo SC? I haven't looked into the new DRG 2hr much, but doesn't high jump and jump only give around 10-12 TP per? O.o

1) You absorb your Wyvern. You get HP, Max HP+, and his TP. You also get like a 20% STR bonus, but people have said its only +14... however I'm not sure.
2) Jumps are boosted. (This includes -Def down[So it helps other melee 2hrs)
If you time it right, a DRG/SAM can do 4-5 WSes... or something... I don't feel like counting.

It was a fairly cool animation, and I def. noticed being stronger after doing it. More than that, having the wyvern on a 20 min timer was pimp this morning, never had to level w/o it.
I got +5 str when I did it, and had I think 26 base str, would have to check to be sure.
You get HP healed, +str (about +15 str at 75) and their tp as well as an attack boost and I think maybe a damage rating boost.
Stuff Spirit Surge does:
Has a cute icon.
Gives Jumps additional effects:
Jump- Lowers mob def (supposedly pretty significantly) for a short time
High Jump - Reduces mob TP
Super Jump - reduces hate by half of the person nearest the Drg.
(Doesnt reset Jump timers)
Kills the wyvern and:
Adds to total HP depending on lvl and refills HP based on wyvern's HP remaining
Gives +STR depending on lvl (at 75 people have said STR+16-20, I dunno.)
Gives DRG its Wyvern's Current TP
Adds the dmg the wyvern would normally be doing to lance hits / WS
Can't call a new wyvern while 2hr is in effect.
People are speculating that it also does things like enhances Dragon Killer, enfeeble resistences, etc.

Didn't fix DRG, because DRG wasn't broken in all areas but one: Mission/BCNM. Now they have their own effective 2hr. And heres the thing:
You take a DRG + DRK. DRG uses his magic, lowers defense, tp, and gets rid of DRK's hate while he souleaters. This even is more effective with a + MNK combo. DRG is not only a good 2hr, but its good supporting 2hr. They are very viable for those "SPAMZOR DMG FIGHTS" too. DRG, like BRD, has a good support 2hr, but also a kickass dmg 2hr.
sounds like it would make DRG more useable in the Bomb BC

It's pretty nice..During exp i would have saved 300% tp and waited for brd buffs to do it, but our blm got aggro and we had to quickly kill while people were still headed to camp. Managed a 1.4k impulse drive on an abraxas without sneak attack. (100% tp, no def down, no brd songs, just food.) As far as str boost, I think its based on your level and possibly race.
you know what sux, retribution and impulse drive are on the same side for a darkness chain
if drg can self chain darkness that ends with a 300tp impulse that'd be really kick ass XD
