I've been leveling my NPC with 2 other 75's also leveling their NPCs. Goes sooooooo much faster.

But really though... I'm glad people enjoy it but last time I tried to XP on ninja I literally walked from the entrance of kuftal to cape terrigan with no sneak...never saw a robber crab.

Yeah, it's a bit packed.

I xp on the buffalo's and stuff in Range (avoiding the mobs xp parties xp on, like the raptors). We moved from the EP ones where the NM pops to the DC ones. For the most part, I think people trying to go to ENM's don't mind less truesight mobs along the way (accidently agro em every so often)

I also whip out of npc when trying to farm silvan stones and such. Makes the fights go just a bit faster (and once your npc's xp capped, you don't have to worry about whether its getting max xp or anything anymore)

Im sry for the very Noobish Question with regards to the NPC Fellow.
I'm at work and all the other sites are web sensed and are not veiwable.
I have my NPC to 33, and my question is,
from what point do I need to lvl Nanako to open up these quests?
and I rember talking to the Mithra about handing her some equipment.
What do I do?
I cant find a guide or thread just about NPC Fellow.
If anyone has the time, please fill me in on the evolution of the NPC.

If you follow the two links previously posted you'll find all you need to know.

I am lucky since I'm a NIN that theoretically I could get Zenji good exp until he broke the 70 cap, so I'm still good for a while. Even so there's a WHM, PLD, and DRG in my LS along with myself who have broken 50 with NPCs so there's some opportunity for if the cap pushes past 70.

"-Adventuring fellows will no longer leave immediately after being called by a character in an alliance of 4 or more members."

That was in the update so that leaves room for possibly some Lv75 exp parties where people can bring their NPCs as well? I don't know the limitations on alliances with the NPC, and don't really want to test because of wasted calls >.>

But in either case I can't wait to hit 65 with him (only 54 right now ; but I know I can before they extend it. Also if you read the Alla thread, there's something about your NPCs being able to cook you food @@;

Thx, Since Im whm main (Lv72) its just.........gets more difficult to go out and lv my NPC.
When ever I need to go out farming for materials I'll go out with my NPC and kill a few things for a week and bingo 33. But just not too sure after that.....

That's all there ever is to it. It takes a LOT of calls to really start the quests and stuff. I did a lot of calls without leveling him ever and when I started I ended up getting the Tactics Pearl quest at 37. Someone I know who leveled all the time got his at like 42, so somewhere around there.

Well just ALWAYS call. If you know you can't actually get her any exp that day, just call her while you're doing something. Even if she's only out for 5 minutes it's better than wasting it.

When Luto tells you about weapons, that means that you can upgrade your NPC's weapon. It is gerneally the best to do so because it helps to improve your NPC's relationship with you, and each weapon upgrade is better than the last.

These are your choices for your first weapon upgrade:
Bronze , Bronze Hammer, Bronze Dagger, Butterfly Axe, Uchigatana, Claymore, Cesti, Kunai, Harpoon, Bronze Zaghnal, Ash Staff, and Bronze Sword. I suggest chosing a weapon that skill chains well with your main weapon. When in doubt, Great Katana is always a good weapon for NPCs. (Very nice DoT, weapon skills chain with a lot of things, and no AoE weapon skills.)

And these are the messages that you get from Luto when it is time to upgrade your NPC's weapon...

1 PC, I have a question for you. How do you go about choosing a weapon?
(~3 summons after you can change combat styles)
2 NPC told me he was thinking about upgrading his weapon.
3 About NPC's weapon...I think your pal is looking for a new one again.
(~5 summons after the first Tactics Pearl)
4 I thought a new weapon or shield would make a nice gift in thanks for all the hard work your frrriend has done for me.
(~5 summons after Blighted Gloom)
5 PC, the weapon that NPC is using is not the one that I gave him...
(~5 summons after 4th upgrade)

I'm not sure about the number of summons, but it seems right. There is a different list of weapons for each upgrade, so make sure to check out either of the two links I provided before you buy anything.

Also, visiting your NPC at the Rondezvous Site once a game day will improve your relationship with your NPC slightly. (Not as much as calling your NPC or doing a full call out with him/her, but it does help.)
