About the cap quest to 65, I have been searching for it after finishing the blessed radiance one (had to use all my tactics pearl charges for that one...)
Anyways I finally found some info on mysterytour BBS:

Mixed Signal - Upper Jeuno quest
1. Talk to Ratoto at Upper Jeuno Guide Stone (I-10).
2. Talk to Luto Mewrilah.
3. Talk to Raimbroy at South Sandy in his shop (E-8).
4. Talk to Luto Mewrilah.
5. Click ??? in Qulun Dome (Beadeaux player G3 one).
6. Talk to Luto Mewrilah.

Get your reward and Follower now has level 65 cap.

I tried and couldn't get rototo to talk about anything besides linkshells.
I have done all quests before and my NPC has been lvl 60 for about a month now. The info might be right still, if anyone else tries it and gets it to work please let me know / post here.

Btw here is my NPC in santa's gear:

Also, on the usefulness on NPCs, I used mine to kill bloodsucker NM, I used to get owned at 5-10%hp as mnk/nin if i ever got a link of 1 or more leeches, while with NPC I killed it effortlessly each time, even with as many as 4-5 links (haste, cure4, prot3 really help a ton when soloing a NM).

Did you have your Signal Pearl equipped when you talked to her? I'll have to check it out when I log on.

I had my signal pearl equipped, although it had 9 hours before next call. I didn't have tactics pearl on me.

About the santa equip, I just talked to her with my dream hat+1 and dream robe+1, same for calling her out to xp if you do it while wearing those your NPC will wear them too (I think the NQ version works too).

I had to do six calls with Signal and Tactics Pearls and talked to the Rondezvous Points everyday in order to get the quest yesterday. It does seem to be linked to affinity. It was funny to see Zoldof level up after one fight.

Kuno and I leveled in Uleguerand Range on Nival Raptors (level 66-69). We did get full kill (25 mobs), but I think 60+ is going to be the point where groups of 3 or more is going to be the most efficient way of leveling NPCs.

Yeah my NPC leveled to 61 after the first kill, cure5 is awesome btw. I just wish SE added some command to make her rest even while i am fighting as mnk/nin, because she burns mp way too fast often on spells i don't need so much. I got Homemade Herbal Tea food (EX), I haven't used it yet and i am not sure if it has any other special purpose (I got it while doing quest as monk, i was hoping for a melee food, teas are usually CHR+ foods for bsts). Anybody know if these foods have any other purposes or increase bond if you use them with adventurer out etc? Septimus, any thoughts?

Also a weird thing was that my NPC didn't level to 61 from doing the tactics pearl quest for 840xp points, even though she was 60.99 for a long time.

Btw i xped her still on spiders in boyahda tree, as monk/nin i can kill 25 of those in 35-40 min, and before she left she was still giving the message about being in the early part of her level. I know i should xp off harder mobs, at least crawlers there etc, but yeah I would need to start teaming up with someone (the buffalos in Uleguerand Range take me too long to solo and she runs out of time before 25), and i figure i am in no big rush since the level cap is still only 65 for now and last time i hurried to 60 just to have to wait 1 month with capped xp which wasn't as fun. If anybody has any cool suggestions for good places to xp npc solo or duo etc at 61-65 please let me know.

NPC's cant level on the tactics pearl quest. EMERGENCY MAINTENENCE. It happened to me too a while back.

You guys need to make friends with beastmasters. I level my NPC in alot of places where mobs are still T to me :D

I think people determined that was an issue, not being able to level off XP from Promies. The prevailing thought about the food is that it is a bonding thing, Zoldof gave me Homemade Bread and it didn't give me any visible stat changes.

The Spiders in the first part of Boyahada Tree are levels 60-63, so she will be getting 75-160 XP per kill. Depending on luck, you may get mostly level 60 spiders, which would cause slow leveling. I did Velociraptros (66-69) and Perytons (69-72) in Valley of Sorrows yesterday, Zoldof should have got 280-300 a kill (mostly 300, since the mobs are mostly 6 or more levels above him), but the fights were very hard and I almost did not make the quota for the day. (Too many Perytons, but it is hard to avoid those bastards.)

I was planning on Velociraptors in Valley of Sorrows to 63, Sand Cockatrices in Cape Terrigan or Korrigans/Processionaires/Steelshells in Boyahda Tree to 66, Pucks/Tormentors in Den of Rancor to 70, and Ovinnik/Greater Cockatrices to 75. NPC XP groups are pretty much necessary, I could probably manage to solo Zoldof to 63, but I cannot see myself being able to solo anything after that by myself. A group of three players and 3 NPCs would be a whole lot easier, and if the max allaince was bumped up to 6 players and 6 NPCs, it would be smooth sailing. (You could probably do Kindreds or King Buffalos in Uleguerand Range and Spartoi/Lemures in King Ranperre's Tomb for super-fast XP.)

Heh, only reason I say that is cause NPC lvling fags already ruined a good exp zone (kuftal) and now with the lvl caps they move onto bigger things.

NPCs suck, if I ever see a PT of 3 people trying to lvl their npcs in the future in KRT I WILL kill your little bitches.

After two calls yesterday, Luto gave me Mirror Images yesterday. The quest starts with a cut scene at Luto, then a level 50 capped battle in Qu'Bia Arena, back to Luto (make sure you have your signal pearl), then to Neptune's Spire in Lower Jeuno.

The battle itself it pretty intense. I set Zoldof to Stalwart Shield, the enemy has a spell that will do a lot of damage to you but your NPC will take no damage and counter with a spell of his/her own. I spent most of my time healing Zoldof, and would have lost if I didn't have Convert. The enemy was a punk to enfeeble, but it helps that I have a ton of enfeebling merits. Paralyze went off like crazy, so use it early and keep it on if you go in as a caster. (I didn't use it until after Convert, I probably wouldn't have had to convert because after that stuck I threw every enfeeble at the mob and it became a total cakewalk.)

The cut scene in Neptune's Spire was one of the sweetest things that I have seen in this game. It seems that this brings the mirror storyline to a close; I wonder what they are going to do next for NPCs...

Is the Qu'Bia battle limited to 1 PC?

Yes. When I entered, it said "Only Septimus is allowed to enter this battle". (Or something to that effect.)

When you get in, you have time to buff and rest, the fight doesn't start until you get close to the enemy and your NPC. (You can stand far enough away to cast protect and shell on your NPC.)
