Uh what would you suggest for someone who has NIN and BRD leveled? I can't very well cure at all as BRD50 and sure as hell can't cure as NIN and I read you take like 500 dmg from that ability >.>

Sept! You got stalwart shield? I thought you would let me borrow that when you got it. ;-;
I did the 50 cap as a ninja. After getting hit by blighted doom, I found it best to just let my NPC keep hate. If I got hate, I simply turned away from the mob until my NPC got hate back. I also never voked. My NPC was on fierce attacker.
Probably go on NIN/WAR and blink tank it. Your debuffs should utterly demolish the enemy (Paralyze easily took 1/3rd to 1/4th of its attacks and spells), and you can blink away most of the hits. (I don't know if Blighted Gloom will go through shadows or not, take some Au Lait and Potions just to be safe.)
Kuno, I borrows the scroll from Sephirothid. I will ask him if you can borrow it next time I talk to him.
I did it as rdm/blm with fierce attacker and didn't even rest up mp after protecting myself and my npc. I ate two Blighted Glooms by pulling agro at bad moments.
I had to convert to keep my npc healed, but if I hadn't eaten those Blighted Glooms convert wouldn't have been required.
The npc gets hit really hard, so if you can't cure your npc you'll have to kill it much faster than I did.
How much % damage would Freeze do?
I finished the Mirror quest too, did the BC with my NPC set as healer and went in as mnk/nin. I died the first time though lol, basically the move it does, blightened gloom, is a pain, does about 500-600 hp dmg. I didn't know npc could counter it, i never let my npc tank normally. it did it 3 times to me, the 3rd time it killed me, since i am only monk50 inside there (so i don't have the 2200 hp i can have as 75 mnk), i had no equip the first time either basically lol. It ignores shadows and goes right through you.
The second time i still had no armor, npc as healer, the only thing i did different was running away when he did that move, and it works well.
I kept hate, and utsusemi1 is plenty enough especially with dodge and with him using spells and slow scythe attacks. doing it that way was pretty easy.
And yeah cure5 is awesome, can't wait until my NPC is 63-64 and she can cast protect4 too.
You will die on the party, then the monsters will depop.Originally Posted by Elcura

You're referring to AoE WS from mobs or is there something else I'm missing?Originally Posted by benny
Yes... one of my BST partners has inadvertantly killed more people with bombs since the update than I ever even thought of killing in my entire time as BST before it.Originally Posted by nivlakian

How will you MPK people in KRT ? If you're doing it solo I dont see it, maybe duo or trio. Getting Spartoi Sorcerors to do AOE drain or Black cloud hurts you too, and unless you're getting cure bombed by a rdm or whm, dunno how you're gonna pull it off too well, feeding something enough TP to massacre everyone around you including yourself.
Unless there are bombs in KRT I dont know about
Or unless you sub BST, but then again lvl 60 mob vs lvl80 mob = lol
It'd be easy enough to MPK a group xping NPCs on bones, just bring a regular roaming PT and have the BRD pull to the NPCs. AoE spam happens naturally in the process, the NPCs just happen to be there getting raped by it.
But seriously, KRT is overcrowded already, if I actually see people exping NPCs there they can go to hell.
They just need to allow NPC in Al'taieu (basic exterior Al'taieu) and that'll solve a lot of problems. If they're scared NPCs will tip the balance when fighting Jailers... yeah, good one.
Can you summon your NPC in Ru'Aun Gardens? I never bothered to try. If so then Flamingo's might be the mob for you. No link, no aggro and no big time AoE. They are lvl 72-74.Originally Posted by Septimus
Unless they added it in the last patch, you cannot summon them in sky or sea. Flamingos would be fairly awesome with 3 people, you could level your NPC to 66-67 off of them and they are a breeze to tank as a RDM.Originally Posted by dietvanillapepsi
Can't summon them in sky, I'm pretty sure. What about Tragopans in Bibiki?
Why do people completly ignore newtown molvapolas for NPC grouping? There's 2 tiers of mobs, 1 that are EP-DC to 75, near one of the 3 entrances from oldtown, and there's another camp near mineshaft that has mobs EM-VT to 75, perfect for grouping. And if you get lucky, your region will control it next and you will be able to get cheap Coral Fungus and the very rare Movalpolos water.
Level your NPC @ Newtown Movalpolos!!, it's always empty and you can farm a sylvan stone if you need it. Just take the ENM shortcut (gamble with goblin, win, pay 2k for shortcut but never do the ENM, then you get unlimited rides for 2k each :D ).

FYI, there's a quest series you can do in Bastok that'll eventually let you trade Ahriman Tears to the NPC further in for quick access to Mine Shaft #2716.Originally Posted by Lordwafik
