It gives them access to EX weapon skills that they could otherwise not use is I think the main difference.
The differences between the new jobs and old ones are rather subtle.

hmm.. I C, thx for the info.
Later on I'll check the Great Katana WS list and see if Nanako uses any EX WS. But also I need to lvl her to even use them orz
(Nanako is 41)
Your NPC will give a warning when they are one hit away from 100% TP. If you had 100% TP already, they'll wait a little bit even once they do hit 100% in case you want to go first. If you still don't go, they'll finally go.
Also, they tend to double attack and counterattack, I've noticed.
I'm _pretty_ sure they used DA & CA before you upgrade them - not 100% sure though. =/Originally Posted by Khamsin
I know for sure that in standard Attacke mode they can once in a while do Double Attack, Not sure about counter Attack though (Dont even know what it looks like or sound like)
When you have over 100% TP, a Fierce Attacker will let you know when he/she reaches 90% TP.Originally Posted by Shindoraemon
Also, Fierce Attackers supposedly won't use a weapon skill if he/she can use an upgraded version. For example, a Fierce Attacker will not use Burning Blade if he/she has the skill for Red Lotus Blade.
And supposedly Fierce Attackers have the Store TP trait, but there really is no way to test for it.
Probably, I'm not sure either.Originally Posted by plake
But, knowing SE, Fierce Attacker probably gives them +0.1% to DA and CA.
Killing only Pugils and Crabs (Water) in Sarutabaruta/Toraimarai:

I experienced absolutely no resets in the process. There may be multiple crystals for each nation, but Windurst is definately Water.
Nice. I'm gonna have to try that out and if it resets I'll know who to hunt down. :wink:Originally Posted by Calith

Yeah, Noble's is really awesome to have on NPC 8)
If I ever finish DLing the update I can post a pic of Zoldof in his Demon Harness. ;_;
Don't make me post a picture of Zenji in his uber Seer's Tunic or Chainmail.
previous:
Wool Robe (Windurst 5)
RSE1 Gloves (Beastmen 1)
Seer's Slacks (Windurst 3)
Chestnut Sabots (Windurst 5)
Went to Toraimarai, fought 6 Scavenger Crab, 1 Bloodsucker and 13 Canal Pugils, all water crystals, and made a lot of windurst prgress.
Holy BP (Win 6)
Gloves (Win 1)
Hose (Win 4)
Chestnut Sabots (Win 5)
I actually think this crystal theory is valid now >.>
Hmm well Goobbue do drop water crystals and I've been getting windurst since we cut out the skimmers from our mobs....
Go kill crabs in non-Windy controlled zones, get stacks of water crystals, and see if your NPC still progresses along the windy armor path.
Claiming to kill only water crystal mobs in the saruta region and getting windy armor doesn't really prove anything, other than you seem to get less other junk in the process.
That's really the next step in the experiment. Killing mobs in different zones to see how they change gear progress. It would be interesting to go to Dangurf Wadi and kill the low-level goblins there to see if they will progress the beastmen mobs since it is always solidly Bastok controlled/dominated.Originally Posted by Khamsin
I wonder if certain mobs are just confounders, kind of like they reduce the progress made in the region and if you kill enough it will change gear randomly. Or it could just be bugged since this didn't seem to happen before the last update.

or am I giving SE too much credit when I say that ?
We used to kill primarily Skimmers while we were at the top of the tree instead of Goobbue. That progressed me 2 levels into Bastok while Windurst was in complete control of the area, so yeah, it is somewhat accurate to the crystal theory though Wind wasn't allied to anyone it seems.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Or my theory of 'certain mobs give certain nation gear' is right. ;o
