Hmm, I just have one question for the people that have done this BCNM. How does Bahamut, 'The King of Wyrms' compare to his subbordinates? Square has always made optional/non-plot related bosses MUCH stronger than the ones that are. For example, Promathia is one of the two prime gods of Vana'Diel, yet Kirin or Absolute Virtue, 'assumed' gods could destroy him with one finger. I know Bahamut can't be stronger than Vrtra, otherwise people wouldn't have beaten him on the same day he was released. Story wise, what makes him the king of dragons way more powerful than him is what I'd like to know. I knew he would be put in the game one day, maybe as the most uber HNM ever. Like Dynamis Lord, where 72 people could fight him at once in a dynamis-like area, not a single alliance BCNM. It's really interesting how he can summon the wyrms, thats something I'd like to see. Hopefully someone will make a video of it eventually because I doubt I'll find 17 other people who qualify to enter the fight anytime soon.

You're talking about the first Bahamut BC right? Since apparently no one (that posts here) has had a chance to try 2nd yet...

He's pretty weak in the first BC. We killed him with only 12. Other than Gigaflare, he doesn't hurt too much. He is nothing compared to Vrtra, Tiamat, Jorm... even Fafnir. It's a pretty straightforward BC and Bahamut doesn't summon his minions. This battle appears as a quest.

The 2nd battle seems less story/quest related since it uses an item from the Ouryu BC (which is also not story related) and as such Bahamut will probably be much stronger like you said since it's optional. He also apparently has the other wyrms helping him.

Perhaps I'm confused, but it seems like you're mixing together questions about 2 different battles.

I am thinking if its a 18 person BC then NIN NIN BRD WHM WHM RDM / BLM BLM BLM BLM RDM BRD / BLM BLM BLM BLM RDM BRD

Considering from what I heard about the pops.. 8 BLM can rock them hard so I am assuming this setup would work.

He did one move with frontal damage + Bind, which im gonna guess was Trample.

When he talks shit, he uses Megaflare about 2 seconds after, start Stun right when you see him talk. I tanked him as PLD taking about 150-170 w/ staff, i have decent gear but nothing prestige like m. body or def. ring. When you enter the BC, he probably puts up Pro/Shell V immediately cause i remember no one was taking any damage off until he was dispelled, just make sure you have a good RDM. A competent group of 12 people can win this as long as they know when to stun him.

330 Enfeebling + Dark Staff and I was never able to dispel him, Jesus hates me.

maybe a BRD/RDM has a better chance of dispelling him :D

sry if im getting off topic but whats the set up u guys use to beat ouryu? ive tried diffrent set ups and i found out we did best with 15 people for some reason >_> i used pld pld nin smn smn blm blm blm whm whm brd sam sam drg mnk but that was just for the hell of it but we did best with that set up and got him to 70%

good news for drks I guess, you'd think with people wanting Bahumut drops, mabye kowaru(sp?) ore will be more available, for a price, but available.

Doing the 2nd Bahamut BCNM in about 1.5-2 hours. Clearing a last few through the first one before we enter.

You can pull it to a spot where you won't get any worm link except one.. I just charmed that one.

Wiped @60% :/

He used Gigaflare, wiped most of the mages and all of the tank PT but me, and then summoned Vrtra. Game over.
