He used Gigaflare, wiped most of the mages and all of the tank PT but me, and then summoned Vrtra. Game over.

Was Vrtra the first thing he summoned?

We're going in for a 2nd round. Personally I think it should be zerged like Dynamis Lord, but we're trying a drawn out approach again. Time limit is 60 minutes. I'll edit this post in a few with some screenshots.

Looks insane... did you guys live long enough to see how fast Vrtra's HP can be taken down?

Summoned wyrm HP is around 10,000. One BLM said he thought thunder IV took around 10% of Tiamat's HP away.

Around 80% HP he summoned Tiamat, someone claims he summoned Vrtra around the 60% mark.

And no, we got Gigaflared and then Vrtra was summoned so we were done for.

Nope. The most you can do is delay it by stunning, but it will go off after the stun wears. I suggest stacking as much -% magic gear you can find.

Is it same strenght as the Gigaflare of first BC?

I took around 1000 damage from it, and most of everyone else was one shotted. The other NIN was elvaan, no defending ring, and probably wasn't at full HP so he was one shotted as well.

If your SMN is quick about it, yes it would help. He does multiple buff dispels often so it's hard to even keep Shell and Protect up.

When we did the first Bahamut BC... only 3 people died to Gigaflare.. and like 8 people didnt even get hit.. maybe there is a way to avoid it?

Someone mentioned in another post that gigaflare isnt 360 degree AOE. Maybe you can avoind it with the right positioning?

I don't know how to win... he does Charm over and over again.. in 10 seconds he charmed all 4 of our melee (while chainspell stun was being cast on him), who proceeded to rape the mages. It was not Charmga, but single target Charm wtih apparently no recast ... -_-;;;;;;;;

He said it did about 10% to the summoned tiamat, not bahamut.
