How'd you guys do on the BC? On our first attempt we got Bahamut to 60%, killed Tiamat, but wiped on Vrtra. On the second attempt we got Bahamut to 80%, summoned Vrtra, and then wiped to Vrtra-.-;
we wiped to jorm, we thought 10 nukes would kill ad ragon as said, so we were underprepared...next time we know what to do
We underestimated the summoned wyrms essentially. We went in with the assumption that ES sleep would work on Tiamat/Jorm/Ouryu, which was wrong. When that failed we wern't well enough prepared to deal with it, got Jorm to about 30% then he used blood weapon and started eating the blms. Now that we know, we're adjusting our plan for the 2nd round and should be able to handle it. We'll have to see how things go with Vrtra though :D
i wanna see a pic of someone fighting with all 3 wyrms out lol
It wouldn't happen, they summon too far apart for more than one to be out at any given time.

Actually I think the key to this fight is taking a well-balanced group in rather than throwing a ton of blms at it. Sure blm is still necessary, but blm alone can't win this. You need good tanks, good whms, lots of mp regen etc. There are only so many "DD" slots available. We went in with 5 blm, which is probably enough imo. We lost because our strategy was flawed due to lack of information about the fight, not because we didn't send in 18 blm.
Although, the idea of trying this DL-style is sort of interesting :D Bahamut has a lot of hp but nothing like the real wyrms, given the right setup it *might* be possible. Someone else will have to take up that challenge though, we're looking at a more typical drawn-out approach for our second attempt.
althought unlikely, i wonder if there can only be one wyrm to be out at a time, in which case you can just somehow hold on to the first wyrm summoned and kill bahamut while keeping it aliveOriginally Posted by Demetrios
someone post some fucking pics prz

I may have missed this I just wanted to confirm it. Is the second fight against Bahamut an 18 person fight?
Both are 18, first is against just Bahamut. Second is against Bahamut with Kirin style CoP wyrm summoning.Originally Posted by radav
The biggest problem with this BCNM is holding Bahamut... And the problem is... Theres honestly no way to "hold" him because he will constantly drain your MP with his endless TP moves. This fight IS the counter to "Lets Manaburn It" Its absolutely impossible to deal with Dragons while trying to fight Bahamut. And Its really obvious... For Vrtra you must fight fire with Fire. SMN vs. SMN , BST vs. BST... There isnt very many BCNMs where BST is useful. I do however have a question... Did he summon? If not... The constant charm is making up for the loss of his summons. 2x BST and a few SMNs could heel thier pets to the opposite of the Arena and fight Vrtra and at the rate BSTs and SMNs do damage, I bet he could be downed in 5 minutes. And the only thing you are losing by giving up BST and SMN to fight Vrtra is damage...However, I think the party that is fighting Vrtra will need to Disband and claim it as soon as it pops or else it will be gaining large hate from the main alliance... Jormungand, will be a bit tougher, as Blood Weapon sucks... But 1x PLD goes to Invincible during Blood Weapon + Hard Nuking should allow you take him down with little penalty... (No Deaths)... Tiamat of course, is Bahamuts Genbu it seems like, a few nukes and weaponskills and he is gone. If he does Summon Ouryu... (Hasnt been seen yet, im sure he doesnt as you killed him to get a Monarch Orb, if the storyline is static) He could be a bit tricky considering AoE Terrorize and Breakga could possibly ruin the whole fight. As for Bahamut... The only thing I can suggest is a large amount of meds. To help support the "holding" group while others deal damage to the Dragons..
If you had 2-3 hours in the BC perhaps SMN and BST damage would work, but there is too much of a time crunch to use anything less than heavy swinging melee and BLMs. Charm didn't affect his summoning. I'd rather face 4 skelletons than a DRK/NIN with souleater, blood weapon kraken club raping the mages.
