Its just a matter of time that the ps2 population will die down with ps3 comming out soon, and less thing shaving to do with the ps2 in general.

sony already helped that a bit with no HD on the thin ps2.

hmm I own a Apple for work, and I have no interest in 360, plan to buy a PS3 so I guess fuck me huh? I love the way you belittle a minimum $300 purchace(and with a core you'd have to buy a ethernet adapter and harddrive anyway so really 400)

and a pc with the capacity to play ffxi at ps2 graphics is prolly around 50 bucks atm

Sage Sundi gave some answers, now some were vague but people are upset just because it isn't what they wanted to hear, and for the record he isn't the head GM anymore he hasn't been for awhile. He's the Global Online Producer now. This event will have Tanaka there, and questions will be much better answered.

Anyways also in response to a previous post about the video contest I have never seen a clause saying third party programs are not allowed. I kind of laugh that this fear is built in to people and they swear such a clause exists even though they haven't read the agreement themselves. There is a clause that says using third party programs for absentee play is not allowed and that exploiting the game to do stuff that it wasn't supposed to do like unlimited flee and changing jobs wherever are of course not allowed. Nowhere does it say though that Third party programs are 100% not allowed. Before anyone retorts about the windower bannings, those were a 2 day problem where the GM's seemingly didn't understand how people were getting others TP information and they have since let it go. Had that been a serious problem they would have said something official.

The event looks to be pretty cool, not too turned on by the price tag but for a 3 day long event I'm sure they will have considerable costs to recover from. Kind of a toss up for whether I would go, LA is a pretty expensive place, even the crappiest hotels cost a lot. Kind of depressing really, the Japanese dev team is actually gonna be there and I don't think I can go to score an interview to get some serious answers for once.

Anyways the two top ballista teams will be there, it says so on the site. It was in the rules though if you got that far you'd have to get yourself to that event at your own cost so it's not like they won a free trip or anything.
Will be one expensive little leafy hat.

I wonder what the in-game items will be, I am gonna go out on a limb and guess it will be a moghouse furnishing or something of the sort.
