    Computer problem

I was wondering if anyone could help me figure this out.

My internet connection is fine, and most of my internet works fine, as you can see im posting on these forums. But whenever I try to access the login page of anything, whether it be e-mail or my online school academic profile, i get a "This Page cannot be found"

Everything else is working fine, I can get on any sites except these login pages (i haven't been able to check e-mail for a week now).

If anyone knows how to fix this or has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

Your browser may be blocking https:// protocols that are used in secure internet connections.

Check out your browser's options (Under tools for IE and newest version of Netscape, preferences for older Netscape browsers), and see if the SSL (Secure Socket Layers) boxes are enabled.

If not, it may be your firewall blocking SSL.

If it's not either of those, I'm stumped.

Try a new browser. For whatever reason, at my old job when you went to a URL (manually typed or otherwise) it would put a space between "http://" and the "www." This was with internet explorer BTW.

I downloaded Mozilla but it can't even connect me to any website lol, tried everything everyone else said but still same problem. Guess I'll have to call Dell, they charge a shitload to fix these things though.

dont call them to fix it for you, learn how to fix it by your self rather than spending money on it..

check your internet settings, if your on LAN, is it setup as something else?
do you use a proxy to access websites?
is the website your trying to connect to is down by anychance?

its not always the problem from your side, it could be from the otherside..

try accesing the website from a differnet computer on the same network, if it doesnt work..you have a problem within the network..and if you dont have another pc on there...try connecting to the website from totaly another pc for example your college's

Reinstall windows and wipe the hard drive, getting rid of all that prebuilt bullshit that Dell put on to your computer. You'll notice a 500% speed and performance increase.

I highly recommend this. Aside from all of the reloading programs, this will solve 99% of all problems.

Obviously there is a fix for your problem, but helping without physical contact (even remote would work) its really hard to help you.

What is your computer set up?

LAN? Office? School? Internet connection? ISP? When did it happen? What was the last thing you did before it started? There are tons of questions that factor into computer problems.
