ROFL did I miss what Ayaa was talking about?

Didn't read the thread on that LSs site sorry haha. Yeah people don't get jokes all the time. Some shit is better conveyed through speech.. well the intonation and all. A joke is a joke though. Whatever Milkman works for 1up which I don't ever fucking read anyway.
this just made the thread that much better.Originally Posted by aurik

Bravo, Milkman, I can't think of a way that you could have made yourself look any stupider (though I do remember seeing you levelling as RDM/BRD once upon a time, that was good for a hoot between my friends and I).
Journalists are people that make a living out of "making shit up" so how about giving him a break ha?![]()

I think this is the part where we all get over it and stop using this as a platform from which to launch all kinds of irrelevant attacks on each other.

But thats what makes the thread so fun
You don't have to be in an HNMLS to know that RDM/BRD is a retarded combo, and I wasn't in one when that article was published.
Nice job taking one comment out of context, though.
EDIT:Ooops somehow had edited a prior previous post and it posted under my name...I dont even know now that happened.
There's a lot to be said of experience. We all started out as noobs, and we all got better as we experienced more and more things. Most people think they're pretty good players, but they usually overestimate how good they are. When you have your first wipe to some hnm, chances are a few months later you won't wipe even if the same things happen. I just can't agree that your players are as good as seasoned hnmls vets. They might have the potential, but they won't ever get those experiences that will allow them to grow.Originally Posted by Milkman
I agree with what you about making personal connections and how those are something special. I don't agree with the high and mighty attitude you have while presenting it. Some people play these types of games just to accumulate items, some do it to experience everything in the game. Not everyone is looking for lasting relationships, and so what if they aren't?
I also think your examples need work. People leave your shell because they want items that "tough hnms like serket" drop that your shell can't provide for them? Why in heavens not? Serket is easy enough for 6 people. Kirin is doable with 18. If you think you're as good as an elite hnmls then you can do the things they can do. Lastly, the whole basis of the article(and horrible, insensitive greedy hnm scene players) seems to be built on a joke.
There's only so much skill you can have without the experience to back it up. A good hnmls would kick out people who don't improve and are detrimental to the team. No matter how good you think you are at your job, you will be better after entering an hnmls. You learn more about your job, other jobs, and the game in general.Originally Posted by Unklemonkey

By the way, FFXI will still be around in 5 or 10 years if it's still making SE money.
I also had a chuckle at this:
I do hear, from my friends and associates at Square-Enix, of the well-organized and cooperative and well-behaved LSes on various servers (Seraph, I'm looking at you, baby). They're the ones with the maxed-out Relic weapons you don't see on Siren, unfortunately.
It appears from this end that SE isn't willing to put any money into the game. Their release cycle for expansions is horrendosly long, and the speed they fix problems with the game is glacial. I really get the impression they couldn't care less about the game and they're just saving up their gil to make FFXI-2 or something.Originally Posted by Quicklet
Couldn't have said it better myself. I was going to write this on our main page, didn't even see it on BG forums lolOriginally Posted by Marquisate

Seriously I think SE is just spreading themselves too thin. They have so many projects going on at once, I dont know how they manage to even distribute all of these games. Think what game is gonna end up being neglected, the game that people are already paying for and already has a large userbase, or the new 1Player games which are yet to have an audience? I just think if SE didnt have so many projects to worry about, FFXI would get the attention it deserved.
I'm writing this post in hopes trying to put Milky's comments into perspective. For the record, in addition to being a member of TMO, I am also a member of the Roundabouts and have been so for nearly a year now.
I think if anything this is more a situation of a person looking in from the outside and only seeing one facet of the story. Don't get me wrong, endgame does have it's problems, that's simple fact. I've seen what happens when people let their lust for more and greater power corrupt them. I'm pretty certain that every one of us have seen it. It's never a pretty sight to see the petty squables, backstabbing, internal politics, or pray tell the absurd drama that endgame can cause, and the hurts that are created by it.
For all the downsides that endgame may have, it also has it's positives as well. Positives such as the comeradrie and friendships that such tight-knit groups forum, not to mention the simple fact that big time fights are amongst the most exciting in the entire game. I can still feel the adreneline pumping everytime we get a fafnir, or take down a divine might, and that's one of the reasons I wanted to experience the end-game to begin with.
In the end though, when you do eventually decide to leave the game once and for all, you may leave behind all your uber gear, but the experiences and friendships you share... those are what makes the game memorable for me, and I can only hope that what makes the game a pleasent memory for you as well..

Then how come I only see 3 weapon listed under Seraph?
And to prove Ete's comment about JP LS:
Most JP BBS board allow you to post under /anon (which is more of a common practice). The JP BBS board that I go to, is really full of non sense and lies about everyone/person. If someone were to post /anon on KI he/she did get chewed/flamed out in 1 hour. A clear characterstic you can see on that BBS is basicly if you're not Japanese, you get flamed/accused.
Not all Japanese are nice, just like not all Americans are bad.
