Fixed. Please get better information before saying such bullshit. Let's see... How long and how much people did Nightbane take for their first Tiamat and Jormungand ? Think about it before trying to make someone a bad reputation.

As for Fafnir... I never said Fafnir was fun, i don't like it either. It's mainly because Fafhogg's gear is still so good that people still get bored there waiting for it.

You bought zilart, and all you got was a portal to various extra content. You bought CoP, and all you got was a portal to various extra content. Neither one had all the content released right away. It was added in chunks later. The expansion you bought, just allowed you to access it.

Really, it's like comparing apples and oranges. Both expansions offered something a little bit different, and different things appeal to different people. All you can do is say which expansion you liked more, because of particular reasaons that are important to you.

I liked both expansions. Zilart's storyline was too short and easy for me, other than AA EV. It may have been easy to unlock the new areas, but in the jungle's case, I don't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. I"m not quite sure of all the areas RoZ unlocked, but with CoP, you got:

    Tavnazia
    Al'tieu
    Limbus
    Ugly range
    Bibiki Bay
    Movalpolos
    Carpenter's Landing
    Attowa Chasm
    Pso'xja

And you also got level capped zones like:

    Riverne 40 and 50
    Promyvion 30 and 50
    Sacrarium 50
    Pso'xja 40, 50, and 60

No longer do you need to worry about being at a different level range then your friends, when you can always level together. And no need to worry about buying new gear when you level, either. And yes, they fixed the xp, so that you earn full xp from these zones.

Each expansion offered different things. Your opinion of whether or not one was better or one failed, is purely in what you like about expansions. People that love story and challenges, love CoP. People that love loot and the new jobs, love RoZ.

    To each their own.

I have a feeling ToAU will add some more unique things as well

Funny, because when I kill Boroka:
    Nynja gains 100 experience points.
    or
    Nynja gains 200 limit points.

Too bad you gain half xp if youre not on merits.

FFXI has its problems, and the problems are crippling, but aside from those problems, its the best damn game out there ;o. I don't want to go further into that because it WILL become a game vs game war. Sometimes its frustrating because I feel like the solution is in reach, but I am powerless to show SE how obvious it is.

If I was you bert, the second he said "People asked for low-level and solo content and-", interrupt him and say:

"Stop. Stop! Who are these people? Allakazham? Okay, well, those people suck. Stop listening to them. I'm sure neither you or any of the devs have any idea how this game works. You see the code, but you don't know how it works. I'd like you try to level one or two jobs aside from BLM, BRD, and NIN to 75 and join a HNM LS. Oh? You would be too busy to camp things that pops every 3-5 days and drop the best gear because of your real life job? Exactly".

Then flip the table over, grab a picture off the wall, and walk out. Cowboy style.

I lol'd at the people saying "well, CoP sucked if all you care about is lootz"

I'm not a greedy lurker, but that just amuses the hell out of me.

Ok fine, you beat every mob in the game once or twice for the challenge. When you can kill Tiamat with your eyes closed and there's not much difficulty to it anymore, just the time it takes to bring her down, where's the motivation to do it again?

Without that gear being there (even for people who don't get hard thinking about it), there's no motivation to keep doing stuff once you've proved you can.

Without things like Kirin's Osode, M. Abj. Body, etc. you have no end-game, and nothing for people lv 75 to do except level up another job over and over.

There's no motivation to keep fighting the same old end-game mob over and over again when all you get out of it is the satisfaction of winning.

Would *anyone* kill Genbu if he had zero loot table once they'd killed Kirin (with no loot table) a few times and the novelty had worn off?

MMOs are supposed to be timesinks, and supposed to include content that keeps you playing for long periods of time. A risk/reward system is by FAR the easiest way to do it. The alternative is to keep adding new HNMs every week or two so the more active players always have a new challenge to keep them interested in the game, but that's highly draining on devs to have to be that creative on a constant basis. It's just a lot easier to use "material" gain as a motivation to keep people active and interested.

Some people will always be greedy and do fights for the loot. Others will go to help their friends prosper by getting the gear they would like to have. Greed and loot whoring do not necessarily go hand in hand with the acquisition of new, better things. They're only an element when they cause negative behavior (selfishness, rudeness, "immoral" actions, etc.), but there's nothing whatsoever wrong with wanting cooler toys to make the game more fun to play.

A group of friends who are all interested in doing fun fights with the goal of helping their friends have new, fun toys in a game is what the end-game is supposed to be, but the CoP expansion is heavy on the timesink and very short on the prospering. Taking 20+ people and multiple hours for gathering/setup/fight to get 1 toy for 1 person once a week is really shitty just in terms of time that it takes for that group to get everyone their toy(s).

-Most CoP Zones.. look a lot like Zilart or old FFXI areas with a different map. They lack good exp areas compared to zilart (depending on the level range). -The NMs added did have some nice new things but Zilart still had more. -HNMs added have shit drop rates AND shit respawn times.
-Mission is ok but dealing with fuckwads through-out the way (most of my "friends" already finished it or had no care to do CoP and the ones that were done didn't wanna go back to do a level cap mission where they had no gear or because they just didn't like that mission or something).
-Didn't add nearly as much as Zilart (Zilart did add all the summons except diabolos, this was CoP's only. Zilart also added 3 new jobs, new BCNMs with better drops than CoP's though ENMs were a nice new thing but atleast we didn't have to wait 5 days even if we lost. Zilart added the idea of poppable NMs with gods and Bomb Queen and Hakutaku, etc. Zilart raised the level cap, CoP did nothing)

I think CoP as an expansion to the game failed as well. It was, at best, a nice new mission string that we paid 30 dollars for and still had to be done with unreliable people at times you might not have wanted to do them.

CoP isn't as half as bad as you put it. CoP changed the food system forever more for one. Imagine this game without Sushi? Anyway, CoP added more than RoZ, please don't begin to debate this.

Most CoP Zones.. look a lot like Zilart or old FFXI areas with a different map.
Two and only two zone come to mind. Capt Landing and Attowha Chasm. However, in reality, Capt Landing doesn't look exactly like Jugner with a bit of Crawler's Nest and Attowha Chasm is far different from Meph mountains or Tahrongi.

The only thing RoZ had over CoP was the three kings, beastmen zones with a shit load of NMs, and abjurations. CoP on the other hand gave a lot more than RoZ. Not counting the differences they were about the same.

People are just whiny and CoP is the perfect scapegoat because it didn't 'solve all your problems'.

If RoZ came out after CoP, you'd say "WTF THIS DIDN'T HELP THE DROP RATES!", because abj drop rates SUCK.

EDIT: A habbit people like to do is compare the entire game vs CoP, not just RoZ vs CoP.

-Bibiki bay looks like Buburimu Peninsula
-Attohwa Chasm looks like the Inside of Maze of Shakrami with outdoor lighting.
-Carpenter's Landing is an Outdoor version of Crawlers nest with a river, that looks like jugner forest.
-Puroguno Isle is 100% original and way cool
-Pso'Xja is 100% original and way cool
    -As is Sea's region

    However for items :

-Pop NM's arent even 100% drop, there's no logic in that.
-New jugpets introduced, however it's a miracle trying to get them normally like Carrie. The ingredients and recipe levels are too moronic to matter.
-No gear to rival cursed gears
-The "God set" from limbus doesnt have matching stats that people wanted from the god gear (many people wanted the +15DEX from haidate, +10 all stat osode, but are greeted with joke stats).

    etc

You didn't name all the zones of CoP, there are quite a bit more. Attowha Chasm, save the caves, was rather different from the other zones. Not exactly true for the other two extentions. And I'm not even going to comment on the armor sets, because they are damn fine, but people want to be perfect.

CoP came with a lot more NM's catering to the rare/ex group of items but still has yet to offer anything to compare to what RoZ has in terms of items. In terms of fights CoP > RoZ, and in terms of areas to explore id have to say CoP > Roz again except for the annoying true sight mobs but they arnt hard to ninja by with patience.

In an item based game though where items have direct effects on a persons playstyle/ability id have to say RoZ > CoP in the long run.

Ghetto teleport hack ftw to counter annoying true sight when you're lazy! I'm still not sure if i should feel bad to abuse on/off key on my modem, but I know it was useful in CoP area (especially sea)
