I don't know many BRDs or RDMs who would join a MNK party without a WHM. I tried it once and the XP was terrible because I kept running out of MP with 4 cure sponges.Originally Posted by FFXIFlux

no flux, you just suck at your job.
you cant get chain 50+ in KRT w/out a whm, unless you get incredibly lucky.

Well, I flash when I can on my WHM, though, I usually only flash when the Ninja is casting Ichi, or halfway through the PLD's Flash recast timer, I am not really good at flashing TP moves though =/Originally Posted by NynJa
Though, in parties with bad tanks, who tell me not to flash even with all of the Enmity- equips I have, I keep stoneskin and blink up and use flash as often as I can, it annoys them, and makes me happy
Bind on equip items would solve so many problems. Would you pay 20 mill for that Sereket ring knowing you would never be able to sell it back... I think not.
Edit: ra/ex on equip
how's that different from people that offer millions for Ex drops?Originally Posted by Soje
I would like to see more pop item and abjuration like crafts. Maybe a combination of the two.
Maybe high level crafted items that require expensive npc items to enter a limbus like zone. HQ could give you 2 more minutes in a zone or something.
Until the devs pull their heads out of their collective asses and make the new gear good enough to upgrade to you have nothing to worry about. Seriously, why after AF2, AF+1, AF2+ and Nashira come out, am I still forced to carry around Errant/Mahatma because it's still the best or among the best item for the slot much of the time?Originally Posted by Eromenos-Ifrit
Seriously... For a RDM just the legs/body:
Casting sleep, gravity, poison, blind: AF1/+ body, Nashira legs
Casting slow, paralyze, stoneskin: Mahatma body/legs
Casting cure 4: Raven body/legs
Casting a nuke (IT mob): Chasuble +1, AF2+ legs
Casting a nuke (VT or below mob): Mahata body/legs
Resting MP: Mahatma or AF1+ body, Baron's slops
Converting: Varies by race, generally crimson/blood or zenith for body/legs
Meleeing: Varies
Not casting: Dalmatica, anything/crimson/blood cuisses
Casting dark magic: Nashira body, wise+1 legs
Casting EN/Phalanx/BarX: Glamour Jupon, AF1/+ legs
Casting spikes: Mahatma body, AF2+ legs
Casting other spells: AF2/+ body, anything/crimson/blood cuisses
Thats 8+ different bodies and 7+ different legs and most other slots are nearly as bad. And Errant/Mahatma is still part of that slot despite the introduction of 4 or 5 rare/ex items to each slot.
Have you actually done successful KRT parties?Originally Posted by FFXIFlux
yeah seriously lol, i would hate to do one of those parties without a whmOriginally Posted by DrObvious
I've done it w/out a whm and it blows chunks.Originally Posted by geno
the ONLY way to possibly save the xp chain is to have one person 2h the lemures that WILL pop in your way, except you cant 2h every 5 minutes.
SE made Divine Seal AoE -na and Erase spells. What the hell? If that doesn't help WHMs, I don't know what does. If you play WHM and you think it sucks, maybe its um... you?
EDIT:
SE should make a Fomor job. They have so many good attacks, cooler looking and more than any other type of mob...
Just make it a job with Bloodpact style JAs for sick Drown, sick defense down, AoE Bind, and powerful direct damage ;o!
yet people continue to spend 20+ million on dalmaticas even though it's replaced by better stuff on 3/5 jobs it's for.Originally Posted by Soje

I know RDM suffers from this the most, but it's clear that for a given level, SE doesn not want to declare a good set of gear suddenly "crap", which is why Errants, despite its age, is still very useful. It was intentional, and of all the changes that are suggested, this is the least likely to see happen. I imagine eventually RDM is going to have like 20 sets of gear to pick through (with everything it has, RDM still doesn't have a "good" melee set).Originally Posted by FFXIFlux
My vision of what comes with the expansion (Time Mage- ie the true master enfeebling and enhancing job) has RDM returning to its jack-of-all-trades beginnings, requiring it to have a good melee set nearly comparable to the heavier DD classes, hopefully with the existing "Sword" weapon catagory divided up into two or more parts, giving RDM a more powerful set of weapons. This, of course, will correspond with every RDM crying louder than normal. I <3 RDMs.
I've always agreed with that, if Time Mages were introduced, they would have the highest Enhancing magic, and tied with Red Mages on Enfeebling Magic. I've wanted to be a Time Mage since I heard FFXI was coming out, and years later... yeah
Blue Mage + Time Mage on expansion prz...
Yes, but don't get above chain 60 very often though. But I blame overcrowding.Originally Posted by DrObvious
You can't make anything out enfeeble or out enhance BRD. BRDs are already too powerful. Tanks can go get a coffee between swings with Carnege Elegy on. The only thing that would be worse than making something more powerful than that would be to make something more powerful than that which also stacks with it!Originally Posted by Lyndis1
RDM can't melee. There are already 10 melee jobs in the game whose less-than-jack-of-all-trades job is to melee. Making RDM melee better than 11th in the game would break them too.Originally Posted by Lyndis1

Ask most end-game RDMs what their biggest problem is, and the number one answer will be inventory issues with macro swaps. Of course, for most jobs, that's not exactly "suffering" if that's your biggest complaint.
