the duel thing is a great idea...
just if someones talking shit at an NM u can just challenge them kick their ass and make them hp.
but seriuosly imo there is only one time i am actually yelling/laughing/having a genuinely good time: in diorama
i think if they implement an interserver diorama (no not the stupid dumb tournament) like a diorama world/arena where you can hang out with other servers players at any given time with multiple battle rooms/areas that you can enter and leave at will. mainly so you can go and kick ppls asses from other servers that talk shit to you over the forums
and everyone can go
it's time to d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d DUEL!
Change it so you don't lose outpost warps when you switch back to your original nationOriginally Posted by KainMinter

blue mage is going to suck in xp pt.
can't imagine them being a massive DD, and when it comes down to landing whatever trait out, my EM Mouriche can't land Scream on a VT Steelshell, I doubt some taru is going to do better let alone while xping on anything IT.
I hope it doesn't suck, i guess thats my wish.
More character models?
Good side: there might be better looking characters
Bad side: Some might want to recreate themselves, but you'll start from zero once again. Unless it's a mule or a 2nd character ^^
Stop support for PS2 so we can actually improve the game and update it without having to use the same crap we already have cause the PS2 can't handle it.

A time trial event similar to Limbus is definitely welcomed, but maybe throw in a twist. I remember in single player RPG that required you to split up all of your available characters into different parties (FFVII had something similar at the end, if I recalled correctly), and then go through the dungeon having them working separately yet together to reach the end. Say you allow an alliance of 18 to enter, then you separate the 3 PT to accomplish different objectives to allow them access to a final fight with a boss. That would be something fun I'd think.
Instead of having expensive crafting materials as purchasable through NPC, I think more high risk desynthesis items like the subligar would be sufficient to take out significant gil from the game. Except you'd make the resulting items something that can be used for more varities of gear (rather than just BRD and WHM JSE), as well as making it the only way to obtain those materials, that way more people will be taking the risk and thus having more gil funneled out of the system. Granted that may make those crafters specifically able to perform said desynthesis richer and sought after, but I think it'll help in the long run.
I love your idea ^^Originally Posted by atsalaz

Vrtra - Dark
Tiamat - Fire
Jormy - Ice
Oruyu - Earth
so like theres water, wind, light, thunder. (did i miss any element?)
plus i love all the other ideas here :D
That'd be fantastic. They could allow for each of the three paths to cater to different types of groups. One path would be optimal for manaburning, the other two basically resistant to magic, one in which quick dual wielders would be prefered and one that, somehow*, makes two-handed weapons preferable. That way you'd need a balance alliance just to make it to the boss.Originally Posted by atsalaz
*I'm sure we can all come up with a variety of ways to make this work, ranging from having the mob have an auto-counterattack (through shadows) every time he's hit, to having incredibly high defense but relatively low HPs, so that for all intents and purposes dual-wielders would hit for 0 more often than not, where two-handers could hit for 5-10 everytime. 200-300 HP would be enough to do the trick.
I hope someone working for FFXI Development Team check this topic.
Seriously
1. Pld exclusive spell - Signet
2. Synthesis All Button
3. More top end gear rare/ex ala emp.pin, leapers etc..
plus some others previously stated
4. Make land kings more casual player friendly (elistist freaks only, no thanks)
5. Teleport-sky/Outpost-sky
6. Multiple job lfg status
Theres two reasons for 3 day lockouts that I see. a) SE is too cheap to properly instance things so only 1 group can be in a Limbus/Dynamis area at a time, so they use lockout to control that. b) SE thinks the drop rate is so good that they need to keep people out othewise everyone would have everything in a week (or they'd need to make stuff drop like 1/10 as often.Originally Posted by Lordwafik
Both A and B are SE with their head up their ass. Drop rates in the game are utterly horrible across the board and should be improved, and they should spend the $1 to properly instance everything.
I for one don't want the Land Kings any more accessible. (Maybe a little... due to JP monopolization... but not to the extent that some people wish, like making them KS30 and drop all their items every time) If every DRK and WAR on your server had an Armada/Adaman Hauberk, what's so special about it anymore? Sure, the stats are good no matter how many people who have it, but part of what makes everyone say "MAKE THEM MORE COMMON I WANT TO GET STUFF" is the fact that the stuff they drop is RARE.

Many of the current concepts in Limbus could be used to be incorporated to "spice" up the challenge. Such as in order for certain mobs to be killable or rooms can be accessed in one path, something has to be done in the other. Make certain objectives randomized so that the experience will not remain the same after people discover a working strategy. Many times it is often the process that leads up to the final kill and the drops that makes it fun.
This is not a new idea by any means, just something I remembered fondly of from playing RPG. Take the merit system for example, it's somewhat customizable but still relatively rigid in implementation. Now imagine it being expanded to something like a personal sphere board we saw in FFX. Putting certain points in one thing will unlock a whole new set of abilities and/or spells that you can put more points into. I don't know about you, but that makes it a lot more appealing to me.
Some people fail to realize out of reach gear (such as 3kings drops) are the carrots that keep them playing this game.Originally Posted by Jotaru
Maybe the three kings drops should be made obsolete 2 years after they've been out...it works for GM and Ford, why not SE?Originally Posted by Vinen
Seriously, there should be better stuff available from new HNMs, and the three king drops should be more common.
