too bad it wont do THAT much for ffxi;
but fucking eh that's sweetness.
850 to 930 price.
wow thats SO worth it... not
Um, Soundcard? Vid capture card? Where the fk do I put my other pci cards?
WTF do I do with a computer who's ENTIRE PCI ARRAY's worth of space is dedicated to video onry?
>.> its a pci express board, there are no regular pci cards, and the built in sound is pretty much as good as creative (if thats what your using, there are some better ones out there but hella expensive) and for video go firewire or usb2
I'm sure ASUS already has a motherboard ready to go that will support 2 of these as well as have room for all your extra's (soundcard, video capture, etc).
As nice as the specs are...is there anything out there that would utilize its potential? Even today's most graphically intense games do not max out the high end VC's. Most of the high-eng NVIDIA chips sleep thorugh some of the most grueling graphics the market has to offer. FFXI would proably use less than 10% of this new cards resources, even at full settings.
Personally, I want to see more advancement in the CPU department, rather than GPU. Afterall this time, we are still limited by the solid state processor. Mid you, they get faster and faster, but the speed/power of the solid state CPU is finite...and frakly, we are reaching the end.
