How to motivate BRDs to Merit?

quoting people with nothing to add is retarded... we dont need confirmation that you read the thread and agree... its ok... i'll sleep tonight not knowing that you were here

[Russta]

I find meriting as Bard really stressful so I seldom do it. There's only so many Skeletons you can pull before 10k an hour starts to feel less important than stopping your eyes from bleeding anymore and, believe me, that threshold is a lot smaller than it is for the melees. I haven't used my Bard to merit in months but that's because I make all my own parties and go as Warrior or Monk. If I was flagged it would be on Bard no question and only then would I accept one mega exp party for the day and call it quits. To answer the OP though I really don't know what you or anyone else can do to "force" them. When Square add merits that we actually give a shit about they'll be forcing you to merit.

You know..everyone who posts IN the reply in which they quote the quote is ruining the whole irony of it.

Yeah..I enjoy BRDing an EXP PT, but its only if its a mobile PT, and even then it is so much more stressful. I mean when you compare engaging a mob..make it die, engage next mob, make it die, etc with keeping 4 songs on two seperate groups up for hours upon hours, -nas, support cures, pulling mobs while trying to stay alive. I dunno I dont mind BRD EXP...just I cant nearly do it competently as long as I would like.
