I think X2 did around 210 mil domestically, if the movie is actually good, it might do around that much.

The first Pirates movie was what I would call "good old fun", and it had such mass appeal to every type of audience (date movie, family movie, guys, girls) that it just massively made money.

The box office had a slump this year, but hopefully the gigantic blockbusters coming out in 06 will turn it around.

As Xavier pointed out, looks very much like the comic book character,.

Thank god they didnt update him, and the CGI effects for Sandman are Mind Blowing.. Mummy/Mummy Returns sand scences.. just 100x times better , you can almost see every grain of sand o.o

As much as everyone would love to see that, they could not do it, because Vin would just take his costume off and just kill Spiderman.

Michael Keyton made a much better Bruce Wayne. Outside of his suit, no one would expect him to be Batman. In the suit, he kicked ass. His acting style portrayed Bruce Wayne much better than anyone else (Kilmer, Cloney, Bail).

Jack Nicholson = baddest psycho ever. If he is the psycho in your movie..your movie is a classic. I wish he would stop doing these drama/chick flics he has been doing lately, and go back to being a badass psycho. Joker, dude from Shining, etc...Jack = scarry mofo. The bad guy makes the movie just as much as the good guy...and Jack owned all as the Joker in Batman.

As far as Superman...I dunno. never really got into it. Batman is kinda realistic in a sense. Sure his gadgets are far fetched...but he is a "real person." Meaning, no super powers. Just a dude with cool toys who kicks ass.
No, no, no, just no. It's time to face a hard truth in life; Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin all sucked ass.

Michael Keaton was a horrible Batman because he can't act, his emotional range is fairly similar to a pumpkin- you can carve any kind of face on it and put a candle in it, but it is still going to sit like a lump of your porch. And while it is true that no one would suspect he was Batman outside of the suit, which is only because no one would suspect that he was Batman in the suit either. In fact, who would believe him as a billionaire playboy outside of the suit?

Val Kilmer, bless his heart he did try to be Batman. He did a good job with Bruce Wayne/Batman voices, but the script was so bad that there was no way to squeeze diamonds out of lumps of horse crap.

George Clooney. He should be charged with crimes against humanity for that movie, along with the rest of the cast and crew.

Jack Nicholson did not play the Joker; he played Jack Nicholson in white make up. He is only able to play one character with varying degrees of intensity. (Unlike Christopher Walken who plays one character but is unable to make degrees of it.) Some people like the character that Jack Nicholson plays in every movie and some don't, but it is most certainly not the Joker.

I don't know if I can actually blame Danny Di'Vito for the Penguin (as opposed to Tim Burton or whoever wrote that suckfest), but he was awful. Wait, Catwoman was in that movie? She was so boring that I completely forgot about her.

Tommy Lee Jones didn't so much play Two-Face, as he played Jack Nicholson playing the Joker playing Two-Face. Jim Carrey is yet another person who suffers from the "plays the same character in every movie he is in" disease, so there's not much you can expect from him. (Hell, he didn't talk with his ass in the Truman Show and he expected an Oscar for it.)

Ahnold and Uma, good lord. I just don't know where to begin with that train wreck so I will just say that their performances, along with the performances of everyone in it and the movie itself, is sadlarious.

The only good thing to happen to Batman in the 1990's was Batman: the Animated Series. After watching how well they captured the characters' essences in the cartoon, the movies look so much poorer in comparison. (Except for Batman & Robin which is just awful no matter how you look at it.)

Its possible, but X3 has a FK TON of bad press, lost 2 directors, had script revisions, poor script reviews, etc. I'm giving Superman the edge, because not only does it have the director of X2 (a really tight movie), but WB is going to be pulling out all the stops to get a franchise equal to Spider-Man/X-Man etc.
Oh wow really? Didn't know that. Well I'm gonna see em both anyway lol.

Anyone know who the villain in spiderman 3 is? I think they were doing the hobgoblin, but if they include Carnage... omfg...

They'd have to be retarded to not work in the black badass.
Venom and Sandman. Already a pic of Sandman they released to the public.
Carnage... my bad, meant to say Venom ("The black badass"). That's fucking awesome. Thank god they have the sense to put him in.

Dunno how they're gonna explain Venom in Spiderman 3 within a 2-2.5 hour movie without it being cheesy. And the new Superman will have to work really fkin hard to be better than Batman Begins, in my humble opinion.

Personally, I'm really less than thrilled with the state of DC Comics. The Superman books have been really bad for the last 2 or 3 years with little direction or development, JLA has been ruined, Batman has been quite unlikeable, and they've brought back characters in ways that just don't make sense. (Hal Jordon, Kara Zor-El) I'm afraid that the end of this current crisis is going to wind up bringing back the multiverse, and that will really blow.

But at least the X-Men books from Marvel have been interesting because of Decimation.

He had better get so goddamned jacked for that movie.

If Christian Bale can do it, so can Topher Grace... but that kid better eat his pasta.

I actually have enjoyed Batgirl a lot, though I stopped reading a month ago or so. Invincible is incredible and I drool over the prospect of new ones. I am an avid reader of Cable and Deadpool, just for the Deadpooly goodness. The Wolverine vs Hulk Ultimates fight is amazing so far in just 1 issue. I read GL after the new one, just to see how they are going, and while it was kinda wierd bringing Hal back, they didnt seem to screw it up too bad. Green Arrow is a favorite of mine as well.

And yes, Batman TAS is incredible, so was Batman Beyond, I watch every single Justice League I can on CN but sadly they are delayed forever, so I just rewatch the old seasons.

I havent read any of the Decimation stuff, Marvel got a little wierd there with a billion X books all starring wolverine, but I like the new avengers, great writing and art.

In the comic books, the person who first wore the venom alien constume was Eddie Brock, a photographer that was always trying to outdo Peter Parker. Spiderman brought the suit back from the Secret Wars II storyline, and after learning that it was actually an alien, and it would like, try to get on him when he was asleep, he got rid of it. So the costume finds Eddie Brock, another entity who is jealous of Peter Parker, and that is the birth of Venom, before the costume Eddie Brock was an every guy sort of guy, he wasnt buff or anything, it was the suit (and later prison time lol) that changed him. Btw, isnt Dr. Curt Connors going to be in the next movie as well? In 2 he was just Peters professor, but id hope that was a precursor for him coming out as the lizard in the next movie.

That's what the folks at dc have been saying. Nothing has been going on in the DC universe lately so Infinite Crisis is a pretty nice shake-up for them. And not everything has been boring, Identity Crisis was pretty good, and I loved that.

Also, I'm a big fan of oldschool GL, but I gotta admit bringing him back was kinda lame, and the new GL series isn't all that great either. On the other hand, Rebirth and Recharge (so far) are great.

And as far as Superman and Batman goes, I'm loving the current Ruin storyline and they're both placed in great roles in Crisis. I also don't think they're bringing back the multiverse, I'm guessing they'll maybe have earth2 take over after the Crisis, then fast forward a year in the new earth2, and have 52 fill in what happened that year.

I really disliked the Ruin storyline. I mean seriously, Emil Hamilton as the big bad? Are we going to find out that he was manipulated by Bibbo next episode? And that Bibbo was really emplyed by Jimmy Olsen to do it? And that the true mastermind behind the whole Crisis was Perry White? You just shouldn't screw with old, established charaters like that- the storylines are always disappointing. (Onslaught anyone?)

Superman has been wandering aimlessly since Joe Kelly (the last of the year 2000 reboot authors) left the books. The think about the 2000-reboot was that the editors let the writers have free-reign over the storys, the creative people got to create. Then they decided that although people loved that, they needed to go back to their policy of editorial interfierience, which gave us awesome things like two new Supergirls in 3 years and the Smallville-ification that destroyed almost 20 years of post-Crisis contenuity.

And if they do make it Earth-2, I swear I am canceling every DC Comic I read. I've had to put up with Superman Red and Blue, canceling great series like Supergirl (Peter David) and Hal Jordon: Specter, and Chuck Austen's run. I don't think I I have the strength to deal with Earth-2.

i am really enjoying the outsiders, day of vengence, superman shazam first thunder and all star superman. I dont think they will change it to earth 2 at the end of IC but there will be big changes. to me this feels like a makeover that has been long over due comics have gone down in quality and story for a long time now and they needed a change. this goes for marvel i really like house of m and decimation they are cleaning house in the marvel u with what they are doing. also with the marvel knights line of books and astonishing x-men they are starting to feel like the books i used to read 15 years ago.
