Ive also been considering quiting,

Ive put so much time and effort in to my char though, the thought of either droping my items or deleating my char and everything being lost forever makes me sad.....

I could pass it on to a friend, but there is allways a chance if i did, id be lured back to it.

Then there is RMT it, id feal very uneasy doing this as ive allways personaly hated RMT`ers, im not sure id want a rmter runing about as me.

I also dont think anything i could get for it, would be worth the time and effort ive put in, my char isnt "pimp" but both it and my mule have caped crafts, 60+ merits af2 uncursed items cop finished(ARGHH) etc

I dont know, as of now im just drasticly reducing the time spent at my pc/ffxi

Can't a deleted character be recovered anyway though?

Yeah, if you only deleted it. If you make a new character with the same name, the original is gone forever.

not so sure about this... a friend of mine quit, deleted his toon, and then another friend created a mule of friend1's name. Friend1 came back to the game on his original, deleted character, but friend2 first had to delete his mule, losing all his gardening stuff on it in the process

it's not new character of the same name, it's a new character on top of the same content ID.

I don't see what the problem is with selling accounts (buying them I understand, but selling is completely different). I mean, if you put $14 a month into a god damn game, I'd like some reimbursement (sp) for all of that wasted cash. When I quit I know I'm going to sell. Fuck ethics, it's a virtual character on a game and I'm getting hundreds of real money for it.

Because if people did not sell their accounts, then there would be no accounts for other people to buy.

And it is not wasted cash; you spend $14 a month to be entertained by a game. Just like paying for cable or a satellite dish- you are not reimbursed if you do not like the service or if you do not watch all of the channels.
