Really gives a feel for the game that you don't see in game. Looking at that Jorm and Tiamat picture makes the fantasy setting seem more real, like a real Grand Dragon living up at the top of a frozen mountain such as Uleguerand. In game its just like, "Oh hey, a Dragon." The pictures make the fantasy setting seem more believable.

Those look pretty awesome. Somebody did the same thing to Half-Life 2 models a while back by applying HDR lighting to them and putting them into real-life scenes. All I could find about it is this forum post, unfortunately... but there appears to be enough info there that you could start making your own.

I loved the Gobbue one, it actually made me laugh! I do echo the "shame they're only in 640x480" sentiment though, they'd have made great desktop wallpapers otherwise.

Textures look like shit because they're very low resolution and stretched over significantly large areas.

Oh my that is amazing. I would love if when the PS3 comes out they scrap ffxi for PS2 and change the game for PC and PS3. They could make everything look like this in the game then. :D

Theres one with whats supposed to be vrtra, but I dont remember KRT having water, not to mention vrtra isnt blue.

The three new ones are pretty good though I agree the apparant Vrtra one makes about as much sense as the Crawler one. Can't argue with that quality though.
