So 4 mannequins is max? I know someone that is going to be very pissed.

no, you can have more, but like I said dark based energy furniture is very very hard to come by, as the strongest pieces either:
a-surpass the fang in individual stregnth
b-come as paintings, and theres limited painting space on the wall
i know a friend with 7 so im not sure what max is but its definatly 7+Originally Posted by Pyrena
But is it 7 mannequins and they still manage to have enough dark element based furnishings to retain Moghancement:Bonecraft? I have 6 mannequins currently, and I'm 20k GP away from the Fang. Will see what I can shuffle around next week when I have it.Originally Posted by Unholythrash

1 mannequin has a strength of 6, based on light. With 6 mannequins you'll have a combined 36 light there. The fang is 9, so that overpowers the mannequin for moghancement dominance, however the light element surpasses the dark, so light would win. You'd need a combined 28 dark energy to be certain you overpower dark.Originally Posted by ono
You could buy 5 Autumn's End to throw on your walls, for 25 dark (5 each), but you wouldnt be able to put up your CP flags if you have any. From there throw in 2 chocobo beddings (2 dark each) and you'll have 25+4+9 dark energy.
Can you have more than one chocobo bedding though? I have one so far, and five paintings, and will take down my lone CP flag.Originally Posted by NynJa
Ok look here it is. When deciding what moghancement you're going to get, the system does this:
1) For every element present in the moghouse, add up the values from all the furniture. This results in something like
Dark: 40
Light: 37
Fire: 10
Wind: 0
Wate: 0
Earth: 12
Ice: 15
Thunder: 5
It then eliminates everything on the list except the highest one
Dark: 40
It then goes through all pieces of furniture in your layout with "Dark" element, and chooses the individual piece of furniture with the strongest value.
I'll give you an example. Say you're a woodworker, and you want mannequins. You don't want to lose your Moghancement though. Here are 3 pieces of furniture:
Drawing Desk: Earth Element - Strength 9
Mannequin: Light Element - Strength 6
Maple Table: Earth Element - Strength 8
1 Mannequin (6 Light) --> Drawing Desk x1 + Maple Table x0 (9 Earth)
2 Mannequins (12 Light) --> Drawing Desk x1 + Maple Table x1 (17 Earth)
3 Mannequins (18 Light) --> Drawing Desk x1 + Maple Table x2 (25 Earth)
4 Mannequins (24 Light) --> Drawing Desk x1 + Maple Table x2 (25 Earth)
5 Mannequins (30 Light) --> Drawing Desk x1 + Maple Table x3 (33 Earth)
6 Mannequins (36 Light) --> Drawing Desk x1 + Maple Table x4 (41 Earth)
7 Mannequins (42 Light) --> Drawing Desk x1 + Maple Table x5 (49 Earth)
8 Mannequins (48 Light) --> Drawing Desk x1 + Maple Table x5 (49 Earth)
Since Drawing Desk > Maple Table, as long as Earth Element is dominant, Moghancement: Woodworking will win. Hence you need only throw down enough maple tables to make Total Earth > Total Light. The above table shows the calculation for how many Maple Tables you need depending on how many mannequins you want, and the below table trims out extraneous information.
1 Mannequin -> 0 Maple Tables
2 Mannequins -> 1 Maple Table
3 Mannequins -> 2 Maple Tables
4 Mannequins -> 2 Maple Tables
5 Mannequins -> 3 Maple Tables
6 Mannequins -> 4 Maple Tables
7 Mannequins -> 5 Maple Tables
8 Mannequins -> 5 Maple Tables
For the record, a Royal Bed is 24 Dark Strength.
You could always try to balance your moghancement so that you have approximatly equal dark element and the element of your flag. Then you just take down a painting and put up your flag to tip the balance power for when you want to get extra CP or have extra boncrafting power.Originally Posted by ono

So would it be possible in any way to get overwhelming earth w/ Moghancement: Bonecraft? Ive tried a few things but Im tired of blowing the gil on things that wont work.
You're asking for two moghancements at the same time. No, not possible.
Overwhelming earth isn't a moghancement though, that's Moghancement:Earth.Originally Posted by Deimos
Hmm, I thought it only reported the highest element present though, and since Bonecraft is Dark, you'd have to make that the dominant one.
Guess it could be possible, I never really bothered playing with mog house energy much, just worked my furniture so that I could have Cloth moghancement with 8 mannequins in there.
