The Post FFXI Effect

It is natural that love may develop over FFXI. After being friends with a person for a while in the game, and as trust develops between couples, they may eventually date each other out. This is called (as I would like to call it) 'The Post FFXI Effect'. The Post FFXI Effect can be seen as both good and bad for FFXI couples. There have been a lot of complains from parents arguing about their teenage daughters changing their attitudes, coming home late at nights or receiving unknown calls from strange people. Girls are arguably seen as much more vulnerable than boys. Today, many young teenagers decide to have a relationship with one another secretly behind their parent's backs. They may meet up with each other once every week and develop their relationships together. They are primarily interested in the knowledge of the other person and also in having fun. What bond's them together is their interests in FFXI, taking screenshots of themselves in the game, and developing it into an album as a past time hobby, or playing with each other cooperatively in the game. Additionally, they are also interested in gaining experience by having relationships with different kinds of people. Some relations may last happily, others may soon find themselves losing interest in their partner and eventually that person may then be dropped off. Most often, others may find friendship either individually or in groups over FFXI, and that is what drives the game continuously.

Imagination vs Reality

It is important to understand and distinguish between our social reality and social imaginations in FFXI. Players at times in FFXI will look at the imaginary made up characters in the game and decide for example, that this character is one pretty girl that always likes to smile, act cute, and one may feel the desire to be her friend or girlfriend. The imagination here shown in this example will then run in many ways that this girl could be roughly between the age range of 16 - 25, looks pretty and cute, and has that charm and personality in reality, however arguably, this is not the way to be seen. All players (the person) are all different in a variety of ways (age, sex, personality), but the imaginary made up characters (the in game character) in FFXI are all the same.

When I made my LS, I had two friends (one boy and one girl) who didn't really know each other. I gave them a pearl, and 5 month later, the guy went to switherland, to met her. They are now about to be married, and they are inviting me to their wedding soon

If people want to have an in game b/f or g/f, at least, have their phone number, picture, set a meeting irl. I've met 5 people irl since I've started the game, 1 girl and her husband (both played the game), and 3 men. They're all only friends, and I know more about them, than some people know about their pseudo love g/f or b/f.

also, as far as cybering goes online, I don't really care if its a guy or a girl. I think its a little sick for the guy to be pretending to be a girl, but as long as nobody cares about meeting/taking it beyond the game, I don't give a fk lol.
