Take a different look at the use of the word "Fag". It's become more and more used as you said, not necessarily as a derogatory word for gay guys, but as a simple insult men use with other men to challenge their manliness.

That in and of itself is a form of social progress isn't it?

Fag, nigger...these words are words of hatred and intolerance. If black dudes were able to "take back" nigga and make it more positive, to give them the control of it's dark history, why can't gay men take back fag in the same light?

When I went to college (rented a room out of a fucking gorgeous house) my landlord was gay. Hell he lived in the same house as I did (him, 3 other housemates, and myself). He's probably one of the most down-to-earth people I know as well. Didn't really give a damn that he was, shit I didn't know he was until about 3 mo. into the lease XD

Way too many people stereotype as to how someone acts based on sexual orientation. I think to date I've never met a bi/gay person who's acted under the typical, baseline socialized standard of being that way. All the one's I have I didn't know until told otherwise. Don't really give a damn either way.

Plain and simple; you can be white, black, green, purple, straight, gay, man, woman, goth, activly religious, etc., regardless whatever you're made up of, you can still be a royal fucking "I'd burn you in a fire" douche, or be a cool as shit person to hang around with.

I could care less if someone had polka dots for their skin color, if the personality isn't that of something my cat eats for food each day that comes in a can, and can probably carry on a legitimate conversation odds are I'll continue to pursue association with said person.

Color of your skin, sexual orientation, ethnic background, and a slew of other things, doesn't exempt you from being this year's biggest douche rocket. Ya sit to take a shit don't ya? Join the fucking club.

the word 'fag' is being taken back, as is 'queer', and 'queen' and a whole barrel of other ones o.o

but the thing is, when black people use 'nigga', it is *their* word; when other people who arent included in their group (not always just black people) with whom they're comfortable with---use it, its not acceptable.

Same thing with the word fag. If i dont know you, and you call me a fag, i dont like it... But if i know you and you're just poking fun, i'll just say 'hey slut' with a smile and that is that lol (brings to mind my relationship with lito and ulmega <3sluts :D)
