If other players can still see the items then chances are it's just a Client-side glitch. Have you tried zoning and/or relogging?

That's such a load of crap that they can't create items. Maybe they can't but a Senior GM would be able to for sure, they honestly make up all the BS stories and think we are stupid enough to believe it.
It's sad that GM's have no game knowledge, it just goes to prove that they can't tell you anything about how to kill something etc. because their highest level is a 5 war wielding a great sword.
If I lost an item like that as a product of merely zoning and they told me that I would probably quit the game instantly. I can understand them taking a stance against people dropping stuff, although I was annoyed when i accidently dropped an elusive earring and couldn't get it back. It was completely my fault and I can accept that but their response to data loss that apparently happens daily sickens me.

A while ago I was soloing Tonberry Cutters(?) on my BRD for the Ugg. Key. Since I was on BRD and it was before I was lvl 75 with decent soloing gear, it took me a long time to kill one. After a while I finally got a key, so I went to the door and traded the key. The key disappeared, but the door didn't open.
I called a GM, kinda assuming they wouldn't do anything, but hoping they would review the logs to see if I indeed did get the key to drop, and then notice that it magically wasn't in my inventory a second later and I was still stuck outside the door. When he finally got back to me he basically told me what he tells everyone else. "That sucks. Have anything else I can't help you with?". He wouldn't even open the door for me.

For those wondering, once you do 5AA and get your earring you cannot get another one. I dropped my abyssal a while ago just to test this out since it's kinda worthless to me now. No cut scene or anything. Did 5AA again and nothing either. Guess I have to live with just a brutal and minuet >.>
