I believe max amount of characters are 16 and if IGE was smart they would launder the money to avoid being obvious... you must remember they buy accounts too it's easy enough to use some of those to now have only lvl 1 rank 1 characters. If they were smart though they would trade across a couple accounts before trading to the buyer making it harder to track and also less of a loss if one account was banned.
The other thing is I don't think the GM's run around "checking" everyone in the cities or can see their other accounts at the same time. Probably just 1 individuals gil and with that maybe they can't differentiate between a mule or an IGE account.
Your also operating under the assumption that SE wants to ban them. I read an interesting article awhile back that was a very honest response to gilselling/buying. Basically it stated that a game company's core demographics include people who like to earn money and people who like to buy money. Taking a position against and strictly enforcing it removes a large group of players from their game. So the goal of the game is to make it look like they are doing something and make it possible for people who like to earn things able too while letting gilsellers still accomplish this. Wow kind of accomplishes this by having most of the money drops come from instances, Sony's stations exchange accomplishes this and it didn't destroy EQ like people thought it would. SE failed though, but still I bet they have no interest in putting an actual stop to RMT.
I think it's pretty obvious that the GM's are trying their hardest to fix RMT and still be nice to the players (some GM's anyway) And then the good GM's get bashed like this? . . . such a sad thing![]()
..trying their hardest...how hard is it to really just fucking ban all rmt accounts, everyone here can probably name a good dozen rmt on their servers...the gm's know who they are too.
yeah of course the GM's know, but it's a little thing called OVERSEAS NATIONAL LAW
RMT comes from the chinese gilsellers duh, China doesn't have to follow US laws of not doing RMT
its violation of the tos, they can ban whoever they want to
lol i hope you're kiddingyeah of course the GM's know, but it's a little thing called OVERSEAS NATIONAL LAW

Maybe the funniest thing I've ever read.Originally Posted by Karenwalker

Fantastic necrobump.
man, you're poor![]()
If you really wanted to run a sting operation, which SE could easily do seeing as how they have unlimited access to character creation, make char, buy gil, at least few mil of IGE site and monitor the account that will "deliver" you gil. Trace it to Credit Card and owners and bam... banned IGE accounts, after that Trace the transaction to gil farmer accounts and ban those.
I'm surprised SE didn't think of it.
P.S. Nice Necro-Bump. Karen Walker an advocate for GMs?
SE could probably get off without actually paying for the gil they buy also, seeing as the gil technically belongs to them and IGE and the companies like that were never actually authorized to sell it.
True, but only way to make sure 100% that the gil is in IGE accounts my method would work flawlessly.
