Maybe this is the competition for BRD and RDM.. but yeah if it is consumable ammo you use to buff people then it better be strong as hell. Well since BRD uses no MP and requires no gil to do buffs and most BRD buffs are AOE. Corsair will most likely be single target buffs and cost ammo to buff. That is all speculation though. Anyone else have any ideas of how Corsair will work?

Although gil-bought ammo is a possibility, I was thinking they use mp for shots. They would have to add a whole new set of ammo type from 1-75 if they did it like that, I doubt they could work with regular RNG ammo.

Either that or timed buff/debuff abilites.

Now that I think about it, it will probably be like Kurokikaze said. Seeing a Corsair shoot himself for a buff would be too funny.

Protect Shatter.... 15 <insert mob name here> gains the effect of -15pts of defense

Regen Roll... 6 <insert name here> gets the effect of Regen (6HP per tick)

Defense Roll.... 12 <insert name here> gets 12 Defensive points

Cure Roll 3.... 238 <insert name here> regains 238 HP

Cure Roll 1.... 14 <insert name here> regains 14 HP

Accuracy Roll.... 9 <insert name here> gains the effect of +9 Acc

Refresh Roll.... 2 <insert name here> gains the effect of Refresh (2MP per tick)

Haste Roll.... 7 <insert name here> gains 7% haste effect.

That's if they use dice... otherwise just think of the same thing, but Russian Roulette style in which the random number of bullets used has a direct effect on you, your PT or the mob. Various dice or bullets will have a greater impact as you level, but each one will have a certain range they can achived. Just like Brd with String and Wind instruments.... but probably alot more expensive. Anyways, just a thought.

This could be a very fun and interesting job. The randomness may keep it from getting stale. Like what Kurokikaze posted above. An ability like roulette would be fun each time hah. If only to see a random person die.

They said the translation wasn't perfect. What they really meant was since gamblers aren't received well outside of Japan, they decided to implement a Corsair, whose special ability is to shoot people up with buffs. Druggies are much more accepted outside of Japan than gamblers.

Their gun shoots hypodermic needles with drugs you can make with alchemy or buy from ToA's equivalent of Norg.

Hmm, the bottom right pic seems to indicate that maybe the "hexgun" is some kind of magical flare gun- you shoot in the air and "magical buffs" aoe around the pt, like BRD songs. That sounds more plausible than anything else I've seen.

Still like the idea of slots or roulette buffs better. The randomness is only involved in the effectiveness of them. Like Refresh Wheel has a chance of being 2-4 MP a tick. Maybe as you level it would be easier to get the 4 MP chance, but would average to standard 3 MP. OH well, just have to wait. This doesnt seem too bad though. Could be very fun.

I would love to level up Corsair for fun :D

One thing I am worried about is

Q: Will gambling techniques also be party support-ish?
A: Some will. It's a gamble, so maybe people will be like "That Corsair has bad luck!" etc.
