Ok 1st off how does this statement back up the fact you have no idea what you're talking about in your 1st post? Please explain that to me. I tell you why Aribeth is wearing the gear he is and your only come back is about nothing to do with the topic?

2nd, don't get all pissy just because IRON didnt want to upgrade a BLM relic for you. Instead we choose to upgrade a bard horn, thus you call Tredvolt a thief when the LS fully understood from the begining what was going on. Now we started to upgrade a relic shield for Winraf, and in less than a month we are at stage 4 (with the fragment) and just waiting on a bit more currency. So you feel that 3 weeks is slow in upgrading a relic? Or you feel that Winraf is stealing now? I don't get it. Would it be better if 10 ppl in the LS had stage 3 relics, or to have actually functional relics on members that actually help the LS?

For those who think it doesn't take skill to play WoW, roll a brand new Guild onto WoW with the majority of players who either 1) haven't played WoW before, or 2) haven't actually gotten to full endgame, then try to assemble them to kill, say, Azuregos or Ysondre.

Unlike FFXI, in WoW there are actually some things you can't just nuke-zerg to kill. OHSHIT STRATEGY! /drama

SE just enjoys putting timesinks into FFXI. It's how they keep you playing. That's it. That's why all the sea gods pop items are not 100% pop, more time spent to get the items you want.

I mean, seriously, why would SE bother making anything 100% drop rate, or 100% pop, or 100% anything anymore. They see how we've all latched on to the teet of .000001% drops for practically everything endgame has to offer... they see that you're going to keep paying and playing regardless wether they make the next set of gods require 200 pop items with horrible drop rates. Hell maybe they'll make a new set of kings and make them only pop once a week... well.. those will be the normal versions... and then the kings will be a lotto pop off those and spawn once a month! Now that's a successful time-sink!

But it's ok... because you'll just say.. that time spent just makes it all the more worth it when I get the item... that's how you rationalize it... and you'll say that up until the point where you finally see a drop... and then you lose the lot on it.. or even worse someone quartermasters it! Wouldn't that just be a slap in the face.

Sorry guys, but after a certain amount... more time spent does not increase the value of the drop... because when you're dealing with drop rates like FFXI's... chances are you'll never see the drop.

That's ok though, I suppose that's what makes FFXI h4rdc0r3 l33720r2.. you're hardcore because you spent a week.. a month... 6 months.. a year.. camping the same mob.. only to get a few claims and even less drops.

I guess these things bother me because I came from a good MMO - EQ. I can't say anything more than trust me if this is your first online rpg, the ff dev team is the most unskilled dev team of all mmo designers. On a different note, I guess, ignorance (of what a good MMO can be) is bliss..

I'm not trying to derail anything, I'm just saying almost everyone who reads this is a hardcore gamer in a world that hates them. Giving unrequested advice about ff usually ends up with people quoting my posts and saying "fuck you whiny faggot," which if it happens here hi quote. I'm trying to avoid saying anything about WoW because my point isnt that WoW owns, I can't really prove an opinion I personally hold, my point is FF sucks. I seriously feel more strongly about stopping this bullshit than nearly anything else on or offline.

It's completely everyones individual choice as to what game they play, but I know a lot of people who let attachment to items, power, the look of a character, etc decide for them. They don't decide for themselves. So many people I talk to who still play sound completely miserable/tortured but can't leave because of various crap like that. It was hard for me to leave behind stuff to which I was attached, but I'm much better now without it.
