Total is 2400 now (i think someone wrote that above sumwhere), which is why the exam was so long and there were so many sections i guess, instead of there being 2 sections worth 800 total marks each theres 3 sections now each worth 800 marks total.

Nice...another gimic to make people feel they arent as uneducated as they really are. In 300 years, SATs will consist of 4 circles you have to color in with the cooresponding crayon each worth 3million points. Somehow people will still only manage 1300s and feel good about themselves.

You have it completely backwards, SATs don't measure intelligence or stupidity or attempt to make people feel smart. The SATs are designed in order to achieve a bell curve statistically so that most of the population falls in the center or average, and far less score extremely low or extremely high. It's used as an excuse to keep "average" people in average universities, and everyone else wherever they belong according to their score. My friend was valedictorian of my highschool and scored like 1530 out of 1600 on the SAT, but he's really not very smart.

I got a 31 on my ACTs and never really took the SATs.

I never really agreed with standardized tests though as do most universities these days.
