Yellow = Free game? (Zip stone nm Fenrir server)

Anyways i was wondering what everyone thinks.

My Sky ls was farming sky last nite and i zone into zip and see zip @85%. My ls only had like 5 people in sky @ the time so we went to try to pop SC.

Anyways few more people come up, we zone into zip and see zip @42% life. Now It was a solo RDM fighting it a jp guy Druvan or Duvan or something his name was LS Fuzzcat(I think never checked him but was that color).

Meanwhile i am kinda debating what to do, Zip turns yellow and our War provoked i procceded to hundred fist to get hate and tank it some we kill it very quickly we like 5-8 people we had other people in sky but not in zone yet.

We kill RDM never seem to bitch about what happen, Though a few mins later he sent me a telling in english saying "let it regan to 100% if you want"

I talk to ls most of the linkshell didn't want to give stone back. I sent the rdm a few more tells and we met up and i traded him stone. Since i believe it was wrong of our ls to steal Zip just because it went yellow. This RDM has done nothing to me or any of my linkshell members.

I am always bitching about how Ulli keeps getting stolen from me when it turns yellow.

3 times this has happened now once we pull back and blm died and it went yellow before anyone had any time to set up bio ect, 2nd time Rng dies and i have 148 life and chakra was about to be up and rng has reraise, and 3rd time i had 1700 life Boosting and chi blasting and it goes yellow and a solo rdm takes. I had like 3 people on the way 70 blm, 75 mnk, and 75 rdm.

Though i am pretty sure i can Solo Ulli as MNK sub NIN if i could keep ulli from turning yellow;; (Any ideas to fix problem from ulli going yellow and still be able to boost + chi blast to kill it please help me with that)

Anyways back on topic was giving stone back was that right since rdm never died and it just turned yellow for no reason?

Well regardless of wether or not it was the "right" thing to do, giving the stone back was a kind gesture..and is nothing you should regret doing. With that said...I dont like the idea of someone soloing something for 3hours (Ullis), and I feel that if you claim something you should be expected to keep claim on it. I'd never steal something from someone at 42% life though, if anything it would be close to time of claim and at 100% life.

My thoughts are that you don't steal NM's 'just because they go yellow', as long as someone is actively engaged in battle.

That being said, if I was trying to do the 3hr DoT kill of Ulli and I let it unclaim and it got stolen......eh I'd understand. I'd be pissed but wouldn't cause a fit about it, shit I'm trying to DoT a lvl 85 NM to death, wouldn't be all that big of deal. I would just hope they get hate off me (which you did) instead of just letting me die.

It goes yellow if the only damage you do is Chi Blast every 3 minutes. As he's kiting he will eventually go yellow from not touching Ulli in any way. So yeah, it would go yellow pretty freaking often.

And I bet the RDM who keeps stealing Ulli from you is Nalu, that whore spends 12 hours a day up there to solo Ulli.

You did the right thing in giving the stone to the RDM imo. I would have kicked someone if they voked Zip too, so I do suggest that course of action.

If it tries to WS you or cast and you're out of range it goes yellow. Used to happen all the time on Aq back when it mattered. I thought this was supposed to be fixed a couple updates ago, but it's not suprising to see it still happening.

To OP, what you did was gay because you had no intention of going for Ulli, and may not have been able to kill it from 100%. I'm sure this was what upset the RDM, not losing the mob. You should have gone to SC and let the RDM have his fun. Giving back the stone was the right thing to do.

um, I solo a BUNCH of mobs that have TP attacks with large chargeup times which I can evade by running out of range, the mob has never ever gone yellow.

You're melee, you go back to fighting it, and you're engaged the whole time. Takes a few seconds for the mob to lose you, but I've had it a ton on BLM, usually farming eyes. Aq stopped dropping cloth the week I decided I'd try to solo it, but a friend who did it many times before had it stolen by gilsellers this way.

When you cast a spell or use an ability on the mob, but the mob is out of range, it goes unclaimed! Again common for grav'd kited mobs, run too far, hit macro, can't cast. No big deal, just get back in range, but it goes yellow. Also happens if you can't see the mob, I think the common problem with Aq was with him being around the corner even though he's in range.

Gravity mob, run a bit, cast. I usually don't look back when I'm kiting stuff solo, so sometimes I go too far. And I know for a fact that after the patch that said the mobs names going yellow was fixed I still had it happening.

if you try casting on a mob thats allready too far, it just says the target isnt in range.


the mob used to go yellow when you started casting on it, and it ran away from the caster out of range.

Off topic, but you don't have to face a mob to chi blast. Just gotta be within range.

then I would just stay "engaged" and not swinging at it, shouldn't unclaim period then..

Good to know though, i wasn't aware of that
