Before you needed an insane amount of BLMs to kill JoL. Now it's almost reasonable to believe that a skilled group of 25-30 could take it down without a sweat.

It's no surprise at all that this JP LS got 100% drops on our server (Leviathan), they do on every single thing they've ever done in this game. It's difficult to believe that they don't have GM connections when you actually watch them. I was farming in sea one time when they got there to farm triggers, so I kinda followed them around while I was farming. Here's a typical sea run for them:

Enter palace, take left door and go to easy Temperance placeholder. Temperance pops, kill, get 3/3 drops, escape.

Move to garden. Check SW room for DRK Ix'aern, kill 1 aern, someone gets animosity and pops Ix, kill, no reraise, trigger & cape.

Go upstairs in garden, go to SE room. Kill one aern, DRG Ix'aern pops, kill, trigger & cape, escape.

Kill faith, trigger. Kill fortitude, trigger. Escape.

Kill hope, 3/3 drops. Kill prudence, 3/3 drops. Kill justice, 3/3 drops.

Go back inside and repeat.

Sadly, this isn't an exaggeration; it's complete bullshit. They have 4+ love sets with about a 90% drop rate on triggers off of tier 2 jailers. Our LS is like 0/3 on hope, 0/3 on prudence and 3/3 on justice and we're starting to get extremely frustrated by the whole thing honestly. We should have been fighting Love weeks ago to get our guaranteed halberd only drop.

And of course AV popped for them as well!

There you will find a list of files named from 0001 to 0032. 0001 and 0002 are the "configuration file" for the ForeGround Resolution (you can see at what resolution you are currently usin FFXI on the right).

To pump your BackGround Resolution you have to change the files 0003 and 0004. Usually by POLOptions you set it up to 1024x1024 only. Just press twice on 0003 and 0004, select "Decimal" and set the new resolution as 1280x1280 (VT computer needed), 1600x1600 (VT computer needed) or 2048x2048 (IT computer needed).

I usually play with 1600x1600 background and have lag only when there is lot of ppl around me (like dynamis or Lower Jeuno AH). Remember to do this operation when you are not logged in FFXI. :wink:

Sorry... whether Absolute Virtue has had it's HP/regen issues nerfed, it's still very hard to overcome his damage output, and the damage definately wasn't nerfed.

Ah? Maybe the perspective on AV in that shot is wrong, but that looks like a normal sized Aern... i.e. a model that is only normal sized and intended to be fought by 1 party. One trueism for MMORPGs is that the more players needed to fight something, the bigger the model is because you need more room to fit people around it. So alliance sized mobs will be the size of proto-omega, or behemoth, or fafnir, or vivian etc. If AV is really as small as it appears in that shot, then something is messed up. It's either not intended to be fought by an alliance or maybe not be fought at all (i.e. it's completely broken and even the model is wrong.)

I think AV is as many say, "broken" hell Jailer of Prudence's disappearing act freaks GMs out. /points @ [GM]Thunderan. And needs to be fixed. We can only hope he is in the Feburary update. Until then "SeaShell" of Titan is considering holding off on our first JoL attempt.
